I random thought struck me earlier when it comes to teleportation technology that is generally beloved on Star Trek style sci-fi.

I have one question regarding that 'theory' of 'destroying' the organic molecules then reassembling them again at the exit. How the hell can they do that to brain cells? By extension memory, thoughts and the like.

Any scientists in here?

It won't work frankly.... entropy and chaos and what not.

Frankly, wormholes for complex objects might be the way to go.

Or something weirder if you want to move just basic things like mined water or hydrogen from asteroids and comets where you do not have to worry about putting it back right on exit

Inorganic materials seems fine to me on my assumptions, but organic... nah. Unless they work out how to download human brain patterns, DNA sequences, blood type or all those things down and put it back together with perfect level of accuracy.

If they are going to pull it out, that said person will die (destroyed on atomic level) and recreated somewhere else. If succesful, will have same memory but it won't be this person. Just a 100% perfect copy.

Has already shown to be possible, see Quantum Teleportation Between Distant Matter Qubits, S. Olmschenk, D. N. Matsukevich, P. Maunz, D. Hayes, L.-M. Duan and C. Monroe. Science 323, 486. 23 January 2009

BUT the computing power needed to calculate the coordinates for something as large as a body would take so long the body would be well dead before the calculation ended.

A more practical use of teleportation would be to send a ship out with the people on it and teleport water and oxygen and basic protein, vitamin and carbohydrate slush to them to keep them supplied.

Actualy teleportation was atempted and it was a hudge succes BUT : the teleported 1 proton from one side of a river to the other...the sotage capacity was unbelivable just for 1 proton....they did said that organic cell teleportation can be made....the principle is quite easy but the drawback is like this:"to teleport a human from a side of the river to the other you need strings of 1TB hardrives linked toghether until you form a bridge from earth to the moon 2 TIMES"....in short there is no mstric system to mesure that ammount of storage capacity period...teleportation is posible but only at a small scale...we will need to wait some decades until someone makes the first compact working quantum computer ( that is not as large as a gim )

And for neurons...memory...well im at med school and at neuroanatomy teacher said that the brain stores information....wich is false due to my research in this field....it seems that the brain isnt the only organ that cans tore information. There are numerous reports of succesfull transplants of organs and a whierd side effect....the recever got a portion of the donnor's behaviour....biology solved=brains arnt storing memoryes,n cells simply makes a loop of sinapses to make reflexes there is no proof what so ever that a neuron cans tore info...that biology....if we go to a bit quantum fizics expecyaly the quantified string theory ( M theory) we will see that anithing around as is subject to an magnetic field and it molds around it ( in simple therm particles are chaotic when not interecting to a m field and organised when subject to one so its not about the neuron at all its about the atoms, memory are stored between the electron fields wich i need to mention....lets take hidrongen...it has only 1 electron that orbits its core....well that elevtron orbits at a distance so great....that if you can replicate a atom in real size...its core will be on earth and its electron will be orbiting somewhere near mars....we are machines organic ones but no different from mechanical )

The teleportation experiment was conducted in romania near the "Dunarea" river

Concious state is overrated
-when you where a baby you where stupid like a dummy because the brain and boby didnt had time to learn new reflexes...as you grow you get used to some things and learn other...concious mid is simply formed by the property of the brain and nerv system to interact...we yet cannot controol the heart stomach renal organd and much more...our concious state is simply the refelexes formed in our subcouncious mind...we are the ghost in the machine literaly

So by that hypothesis, our thoughts and memories can actually be stored in cells and in a sense our own biochemical electricity?

*has a strange flashback to MGS2*

In regards to sajjukar post. Ocelot implants Liquids arm onto his body, takes on personality, hilarity ensues.
