This is almost as good as the pirate that said "FGS Tax 5 mil"

From 16k...

........Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;..........But when the blast of war blows in our ears,.....
........Or close the wall up with our English dead...........................Then imitate the action of the tiger;.................
........In peace there's nothing so becomes a man........................Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,.........
........As modest stillness and humility:........................................Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage!....

I witnessed a lame trader the other day who was getting pirated by a TBH gunboat.

He was stopped in Omega-5's asteroids, with one bar of hull. He still refused to pay, because he could 'make the money back in one run'. Uh... ignoring RP for a second, he still lost a hold full of cargo that he would have made a (reduced) profit on...

Moron.

Adding to the RP ramifications... what are the odds he was hauling passengers around?

Seems to me, passengers wouldn't pay much to fly on that ship again, if they do at all .^.^

I'm gonna tell a story...about one Captain Stuart, and his wing, Juno Kietan and Ryan O'Connel

a story where 2 traders were CDed, then politely told to stop....who didn't stop.
the queen's privateers then continued to CD them, while simultaneously using inferno's to erase their sheilds, and then planting nuclear mines in their hulls.

this continued untill the pirates had no b/b and one shot could kill.

we then told them to stop again.
politely.
they did.

We explained that the Queen could not accept them trading with her enemys, and thoughtfully requested that they pay Her Majesty a fee for so damaging her war effort.

They paid.

this has been the norm of QCP engagements.
there is no foundation to claims of 'having no time'
every trader we encounter has either payed us or the admins.

Tell ya what ... You don't tell me how to pirate and I won't tell you how to trade.

Most traders don't RP the way they should anyway. They're more like profiteers / opportunists. They are in it for the money and that's it. Imagine a trader moving passengers from Cambridge to Corfu. I pirate you looking for my cut and you run. You'd rather die and lose your cargo than to pay me (as I've heard numerous times before). Tell me ... do you really think you'll be able to get other passengers to board your ship if you have a reputation for handing them over to pirates or allowing them to die in space? A real trader would make every attempt to keep their passengers alive.

Don't talk to me about what a real pirate would do if you're not willing to act like a real trader. A real trader would protect his cargo since he has a contract with the person he's moving the cargo for. He gets paid upon the cargo arriving at the other location. And the guy that's paying for the cargo is likely gonna take his business to a trader that will guarantee his cargo will arrive at its destination.

Pull the plank out of your eye before trying to pull the speck out of mine.

listen to Archelon he speaks truth. And i don't think the passengers would agree to the trader pilot saying no to the pirates demand when they're own lives are at stake. i think traders should maybe look at they're cargo and go in real life what would i do, because in real life a trader helping transport passengers or human beings of any kind would not even think of the option NO it would instantly be a yes because if that trader would even think to say no he/she wouldn't even be allowed to fly a transporter he/she would be told to sit they're butt down and stay grounded for endangering human life.
