Fighters could be fine, but please note that more ships means more lag. So we won't be able to have massive battles with many battleships and fighters on each side. I personally think that they should respawn anyway, because assigning and tracking mothership status will be very difficult.

If we get too many ships (which won't be happening any time soon), both sides will organise their members into divisions. Each division will have the battle in their own scheduled time, and will report the outcome here. The side with the most victories gets that system.

I've never seen any of the Battleship Terrors (thats NOT a complaint ;) ), maybe that's just cause im new. How often do you guys blockade?

We're really not that much of a terror (some of us might grudgingly admit to be decent people in fact), and there was only one blockade. One blockade that never really took off or did anything more than cause a disproportionatly large amount of complaining in the forums. The name just stuck because it sounds cool.

Well it seems clear that fighter respawning is in. I think it would be neat if they were assigned to ships, but that would cause lots of trouble.

Fighter 1 is assigned to battleship 2, and nearby is cruiser 3 and fellowbattleships 4 and 5. One option is to have the fighters known to spawn on one ship designated as the carrier. That would mean the enemy would always kill that person first. The other option is to have it secret, and that's just as problematic.

So how about we just let fighters respawn as long as their side has a battleship or cruiser in the war grid (gunboats are too small to have fighter wings). This is of course assuming that there would be 3 zones before the battle begins, 2 adjacent neutral zones and one battle grid. Before the fight each side would have their ships in their respective neutral area. At the start of the engagement ships may move to position themselves in the central grid and begin fighting. The fight is over when all enemy ships are defeated or have fled the main zone. Any fighter present in the war zone during the destruction of its last capital ship may continue fighting, but no new fighters may respawn or re-enter the combat area. This would give the "last starfighter" a chance to pull off a miracle.

If a player has a Battleship character and a fighter character, can they respawn as a fighter when their Battleship is destroyed?

This will force all players to create new fighter chars and get superweapons for them, and then waste lots of time to bring all their chars to the site of the battle. No good at all.

They work, but missile immunity works for them too. Though pulse uber-weapon works fine I think, for all battleships.
