4.86 Questions

I have never been thru an upgrade in Freelancer Discovery - when 4.86 takes effect do we automatically lose our current characters and cash, etc - or are they simply ported over?

If a ship design changes then does my old ship retain the model it was when I had it or do I simply get ported over to the new design (this is all based on answers to my first question)?

This last question might be completely out of sorts - but the barge - is there a way/place I can test pilot one to see how she handles and to see if she is worth the 500 million?

1) You'll keep all your stuff.

2) ships will get the new model. It might happen that you will no longer be allowed to fly the ships though since it can change faction ownership. (IMG Zephyr will become CR only)

3) As I heard there are tools that allow you to change ships and beam you around in OpenSP. Never bothered about it though.

I don't remember I was here on 4.84>4.85 transition, I did play before and after.
Though, I am 99% sure you don't lose chars, cash or anything, ship models just change, you won't have to sell/buy ship (50% sure if you own IMG/CR ships).


And final, there is server Discovery of Discovery, they have restarts made for different ships so you can try out before you buy them here. Very useful.. one you log on create char you can type /help and not sure about but /showrestarts shoud show precisely what you need.

If you want to try a ship out, go to the Discovery of Discovery server. They have a barge there (you wont like it).

Getting nervous about the barge but I will definitely try the Discovery of discovery server to check out those different ships!
