I know someone who was soloing a battleship in a AU MK VIII GB and winning, but it was taking forever so they both quit.

It's easier to kill something without a thruster when you have one. I can solo LABCs, but Cruisers have a thruster so they have the ability to stay on your ass and pound you, and you can't charge them head on, they have too much fire power.

Only way I can see a Gunboat beating a Cruiser is if the Cruiser is a complete idiot and flies away while shooting backwards. But the pilot being stupid doesn't mean a ship sucks.
