"Colonel, this is not the first time my job description has changed. I have killed former allies before, an' ai have no doubt I will be required tae do it again. Some men simply pick the wrong side. Killing is a business, and personal feelings hae no place in it."
He placed the briefcase upon the floor.

Rhade took a look at the briefcase.

"I suggest you tell me what's in the briefcase." He said in an almost threatening tone while holding his pistol firmly, with the safety off.

Marshall looked around again, trying to hide the fact he was part blind. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched a man get called into a room. Stretching again, he mutters "I must be out of my mind.."

"Sah, no need tae get all concerned, tis simply my papers, personal effects an' the few tools i doubted could be bought, begged, or borrow in the SCRA. Custom equipment mostly."
Ian picked the briefcase up and laid it on the table, unhinging the clasps. He removed a sheaf of papers from the top, several photos, ID's, passports and a lockpicking kit along with them before ripping out the lining and lifting out a PDA along with a smaller black case, which he set on the table and opened to reveal a pistol, silencer and holster.
"No explosives or spy equipment, i assure ye sah."
Gorram they're paranoid here. Ricardo didn't even worry about things like stray bags.

"Vell, I want to free the people of the tyranny plaguing Sirius. The current governments are caring for nothing but themselves, nothing for their peoples. I vant to change that. The Coalition, can change that. That is why, I wish to join to, to make a difference for the people."

Rhade's pistol flicked up towards Ian's head at the sight of the pistol. pressing a button below the table, his eyes never leaving his pistol sights. He signaled for a guard. The guard arrived, heavily armed and quickly disarmed Ian, throwing him to the ground.

"So." Rhade Snarled. "You thought you'd be smart, Da? Think you could get the drop on me? Think I've lived this long without knowing an assassin when I see one?"

Rhade took aim at Ian's head, while it remained pinned by the guards foot.

"Why are you REALLY here?"

Marshall raises his eyebrow at the sight of an armed guard entering a room, along with thudding in said room after the guard entered. Perhaps they use more bullets then some people say.

Ian was unfazed although much more than a little concerned. He struggled to speak clearly and calmly with a boot on his face.
" I have been trained as an assassin, and as a soldier, and as a pilot, by many different and various groups.
In my younger days i was particularly adept at killing Outcasts, so yes, once upon a time twenty years ago i worked as a mercenary for the Corsairs, assassinating Outcast commanders. Old habits die hard, but training never dies, so i carry the tools of that trade, and the skills."
His mouth tasted of dirt, the soil of some far-off planet that wasn't home.
People never trust rovers. Too caught up in their own idealogy, everyone has to be perfectly loyal to the cause from birth or they're traitors.
"I am here beacuse i helped enough brothers kill each other in the Edge worlds, beacuse i spent enough time doing political demonstrations in Bretonia and Rheinland, beacuse i spent enough time trying to enforce the law whilst being ignored and hamstringed and denegraded by my superiors in Liberty, beacuse when it comes down to it, even rovers and gypsies need something to believe in."
Ian tried to wash the taste out of his mouth with his tongue. Foreign soil, always it was foreign soil, never home.
"I made enough money as a mercenary to see my through to retirement ten years ago, only to watch it blown to hell by those fekkin terrorists, and spent two years an alchoholic in a dozen different Junker bars. i finally cleaned myself up, found "respectable" employment in the Navy, only to be stabbed in the back by superiors who were above and beyond law, and brotherhood. That's why i'm here, beacuse gorramit, i'm an old man, and i need something to believe in, and the fellowship of a common cause that has been denied to me all my life."

Knowing the answer, Rhade continued
