You can't buy them, so that means you are not allowed to use them. Same thing is with phantom guns for example, just if there's no YOU CAN'T USE THEM on gun info, doesn't mean you can use them.

However, as I said, there already is one gun that is not used (it's not sold anywhere, and I'm not sure about it's stats). Gun could be modified for morphs to use.

Yes,,, But eventually we will want to use nomad gear because we think we have proven enough that we RP, which in most cases is true. I rp everyday on my nomad, just not the way of speech keepers want it. So thats why I feel we should be able to use nomad guns on morph even if the ID says its only self defence, because I have never broken the ID so far ^^

Keepers dont talk like:

Good God. Well, best get started.

Now i see you keep saying Nomad ships have weaknesses,and strong points. Only Keepers will know this,as only Keepers fly them.

I realize not everyone uses FLStat, but you can compare the raw numbers with it.

The nomad gunboat guns are one of the weapons that are heavily imbalanced. Doing more damage as the Cerberus for 2/3rds the power, and with a projectile speed like standard gunboats - chainfire them and you can wail at fighters indefinately. The nomad gunboat guns do damage like faction cruiser turrets, and you could argue that the gunboat is thus a light destroyer class vessel.
Nomad fighters are excessively agile and therefor hard to bring down when used in numbers.

Both these issues need to be sorted before any of these ships should go public. Balancing something for 5:1 is fine and dandy, until you end up with issues where there's 5 powerships present - and you don't have the 25 players to counteract this.

People say that the nomad gunboat guns are horribly overpowered, but in my experience, if the other ship has two pulse cannons and the rest primaries, I'm going to lose. Every. Single. Time. Granted, this might be because I'm too cheap to go above a uni 8 on my Scorp, but eh.

I am going to throw out something that popped into my head. Go ahead and laugh if you want.

OK what about a SRP request to be a Nomad? Not a Keeper,but a Nomad. Now i do not mean just get a Nomad ship. I mean you apply to admins in SRP,or whatever since SRP's are gone. If they agree with you,or like what you say,or just accept your request they give you Nomad ID,and rep ninja you,and tranport you to a nomad base/planet to buy a ship.
So you would be an Indie Nomad,but not just anyone could just buy a ship/ID. That way they can play/RP nomad in their own way,without disrupting the Keepers RP. Also put limitations on them ofcourse so you do not see nomads in Cap systems like NY/NB/NL?NT and so on.

Gotcha. So the arcs on the Scorpion need adjustment then, or some of the guns simply removed. And I know of at least one Wild player that had more then 3 of those things on his boat... not going to trial by forum though. Is it a set restriction by Das Wilde that scorps are not to have more then 3 nomboat guns on them?
Most of the time I end up fighting Nomads, and more frequently, Wild, it isn't me who initiates that combat. I know those ships are heavy hitters and try to stay away. Not always an option though, and given that the ID has a carte blanche to attack at will, it's a PvP whore's dream. My idea of a bad scenario is to see a pack of 4 to 5 scorpios enter, say, Dublin and attack anything and everything in sight.

I have never even heard of the "agreement" to use less than four Nomad turrets on the Scorpion. I have eight on mine. I very nearly died to two Guardians. The only reason I did not was because the one with the debilitators messed up an EK and took a face full of purple, making him panic and fly a bit more predictably.

when 4.85 was released, we kindly asked all the factions who had access to the scorpion never to use more than like 2 nomad turrets on it.

since the GB is entirely restricted, it is upon the faction leadership to ensure ( no exceptions ) that such an agreement is upheld. if that doesn t work - rebalancing must be done. lately - we have seen more and more 8 nomad turret scorpions - that makes one doubt such agreements.

- if players adhere to the agreement, the scorpion is a fair enemy
- if players do not adhere to the agreement, it is vastly overpowered and easily a 1:3

voidrunner:

there were serious concerns about it having 15.5k power + torpslot and such a rediculous agility ( so agile that its almost hard to fly again ) - but those concerns were "overruled" by those in favour of this ships power - and the current version was included.

- if the player doesn t want to get hit - he won t get hit. hard to balance something like that.

assassin:

yes, as a matter of fact, it is comparable to a sabre in terms of usefulness. it is not too hard to hit - it is not too agile - and it hits like a truck ( but it is mostly a fair fight, cause it can be hit ) - and yes, the hitbox has been fixed.

- basicly a good 1:1 ... balanced vs. most public ships and doesn t need to be ganked.

nammu:

5 turrets + forward gun. - it is balanced to be equal to ~9-10 turrets on a "public" GB ( in terms of dps ) - that is also to make up for the rather large size. but we must also not forget that it is fairly agile - and that there are bigger gunboats around with a lot less pvp power ( like the conference, claymore etc. )

- comparable to the most powerful public gunboats, but still a fair fight - usually a 1:1 can do, but also a 1 vs. destroyer ( tests show that almost every public gunboat gets owned in a 1:1 - so its justified to use a destroyer against it )

nomad cruiser:

mostly below average/average. cruisers gain effectiveness by their weaponmix - keepers don t have the freedom of weapons on capital warships - so they suffer from it.

- as said before - mostly average

marduk:

easy to hit but its also dishing out the utmost dps. while in theory the dps is not a greatly higher - the lower refire / higher damage / projectile results in a lot of damage - and it can usually fight a 1:2 fight against almost all but the heaviest battleships.

we must not forget that its most common enemies are the osiris ( light ) and the mako ( light )

- its usually justified to fight it 1:2 at least - or "gank" it with bombers ( like its a good idea to gank every enemy battleship with bombers ) - 3-4 bombers should suffice

Scorp: None, I repeat NONE of us have EVER heard of this "agreement".
Labraid: It actually doesn't work out like that. You can A) shoot people, or B) not get hit. If you carry a torp, you do damage, but the power core takes bong hits from Satan's dirty socks. If you carry a CD, there's no way in hell you're going to put out enough damage to kill something before Hades hosts the first annual snowball fight.
Sascya: Because three class 10s and four class 9s are all so balanced. Let's just replace the 10s with 7s, shall we? Oh yes, that works perfectly because it has seven guns. Wait. So does the Sabre. Which happens to have seven slightly more useful guns. Nomad class 9s are crap. Ye, we hear about Nomad lasers being like better Krakens. We're talking about the class 10s. Same deal with the Labraid. Powercore can't support the power needs of seven mediocre guns. It's also got the same problem as the 4.84 Preagle. Namely, it's a nice, big, unmissable target.
Adad: It's the most meh bomber I've ever flown.
Nammu: Three guns unless you're sliding. Even then, your power is going to drop like a rock when using the main gun. It's a good ship, don't get me wrong. I like it.
Irra: Its fighter-level thrust speed is all it has going for it. Other than that, it's the most bland cruiser of Blandtown, New Meh-ico.
Marduk: Outranged by EVERYTHING. You can't take on two of anything. You can't even fight a single Osiris with it. All they need to do is cruise to 4k and spam Mortars and pulse and you can't do a damn thing about it. The guns have a 1.00 refire and are so slow that you can't hit a bomber even if it's trying to get hit by flying in a straight line. Two bombers can beat a Marduk. It doesn't take four. Conversely, if a bomber gets hit by a single carefully chainfired salvo, that poor sucker's going down.

100% of the scorps I have seen were equipped with full Nomad turrets.
Just saying that "kindly asking people not to overuse the most powerful GB weapon available without any kind of restriction" won't work.
It's like saying : "please don't steal all my money when I'm not here. The code of the safe is 3-7-9-8."

Re-iterating that we've never heard of that agreement.

And as long as keepers can't really put enough people into it - i've seen marduk only once, and invasions into minor once too, perhaps the closed faction system should be made like any other with indies and all. Also, "Keeper Scorpion" is the wost thing i've ever seen.

I don't think he's saying the Nomads aren't violent, they just aren't violent for the reasons most humans associate with Nomads.

Seriously though, the point Jinx made about the Scorpion has some merit, and I remember a time when Scorps actually did use two or four Nomad turrets in conjunction with other turrets... such as the Inferno (now pulse) turret... or the Battle Razor. I think it'd save the Nomad factions a hell of a lot of pain in the future to just use four Nomad turrets on the beast and be done with it...

Why don't you use LF, it's small?
Because, I can't chase out nomad parts farmers from Iota/99 with LF (they usually have capital ships), and anywhere else if someone sees me in LF they are more keen to PvP than RP (I feel safer basicly in Scorp).

So.. I'm fairly new Keeper player and I am still learning when I play, finding new ways to show visions ("talk") more understandable. I haven't heard about don't put XX number on Scorp.

Edit: I am not native English speaker - but no one will kick you out of Keepers because of that or refuse to accept you in the first place.

Nope never applied. I find Wilde RP far more creepier and more satisfying then flying as an open blue squid. We get to use the human language as well as Nomad's form of communication. A couple of purple shooting guns on my bomber and the Singularity Cannon is all I need :)

Also, I was pretty certain Das Wilde leader is very strict on not allowing any more then 4 Nomad Turrets on the Scorp. No it wasn't 2, it was 4. I haven't heard of a change in this ruling he's maintained for a long time. Then again I don't use the Scorpion because it has nothing to do with my character so I might be mistaken but the notion is ingrained in my head for some reason. Perhaps this should be brought up in the feedback if Das Wilde is using full Nom loadouts on the Scorps.

Also, At Pingu,I see you posting about SRP, but as I have said..

SRP should be possible, even with nomad tech for that.

I would of requested SRP had it been that it was open.

It has been closed as far as I know of without a eta to when its reopened (Talked to an angel, as well as admin about this) since I have been playing my nomad for a while.

How will you request srp when it is staying closed o.o
