Something that's been bugging me. When I'm pirating and get ganked by Navy or whoever and my ship explodes. How the heck are you supposed to treat that RP wise. I mean, I'm back 4 hours later and I get into confrontation with someone who shot me down... do we act like it never happens or that they took me to jail and I escaped and got a new ship... in 4 hours... or that they tried to kill me but it turns out I'm immortal on a 4 hour timer. And how bout situation when good RP requires me to die, I'm not gonna quit a char just for something like that so how does it all fit?
Be quick,
Be efficient,
Be powerful,
The correct way to pirate
1: You blow up.
2: your escape pod ejects.
3: a passing pirate picks you up.
4: said pirate drops you off at a friendly base were you just happen to have a spare ship waiting.
So your saying an escape pod from a rogue GB surrounded by LN and police forces makes it back to the last base I was at unharmed... alright cool thanks.

This is a game. Sometimes you have to suspend normal logic for it to make sense.

Yes. Because escape pods are so small, they're easily able to mount cloaking devices (bigger the ship, the more energy needed, increases exponentially by volume, so a single-person lifepod can easily cloak but even a fighter cannot).
Escape pods are 100% effective, always, so no one ever dies. That means that you can't threaten people with death, and you shouldn't expect people to act as if they'll die when they blow up.
