2. Because we represent the interests of a sufficient number of interested persons who are interested in participating in the game environment in a fashion which isn't erosive to the same.

3. Because everything is a color. It's a naming convention which is both specific and broad in range. Like the old XA Snake names, it's recognizable yet there are a billion cool snake names. Also there's some notion of hiding, as characters, behind the color. Mr. Blue etc.

Curious. No idea who Gold is. Guess it goes to show that it's nice to be able to hold onto a name.

Thanks for the reply.

Quote:When I was accepted to 101st five of us were fighting an Order Osiris. An order Nephy showed up too. Then 5 Reavers appeared out of nowhere and began engaging. (after going through the "warming weps" procedure) I consider that a gank. We were incredibly outnumbered.

I don't really feel too bad about five Reavers attacking five 101st. I guess the presence of the Ossie you guys were trying to kill made things pretty rough. I've been in a weird spot or two myself. Maybe I have a different outlook on these things.

That being said. Let's look at some of your other issues.

Quote:The Reavers are EXTREMELY talented fighters, but I think general Rp could improve. As far as I can see you are just bloodthirsty "mercenaries" that fight whom they please, and dont get hired to do so.

Thanks. Though I'd wonder about the extremely talented bit. We're about 50% really good and 50% average at best. Lord knows Zelot is a clown.

Check our bio for a list of our current employers. In the Taus we're paid by the Corsairs and CR to kill you lot. In Alpha I think it's just the Corsairs. Maybe if we're lucky the Order will pay us as well. As to the part about bloodthirsty mercs, well, I don't think we're particularly bloodthirsty but we make do pretty well with credits who fight those targets that pay out.

Quote:A faction should have a goal, whether it be political or otherwise. I have talked to some Reavers, attempting to RP before they inevitably destroy me but no incentive, save killing OC and well....anyone, was given.

Our goal is the kind you might expect from a mercenary company. Secure a number of employers to pay us to kill people. We then oblige their will in order to advance our station in life. After that what stories we wish to tell is up to us. At the moment I'm rather enjoying some of the stuff we're working on but rather hope to have a little more fun with the SCRA rebellion. It's good stuff.

Quote:I read that your main purpose is the complete contracts. A Reaver (while RP'ing) has never mentioned to me (within ANY chat: PM, local, system....) that they are attacking for a bounty.

When they tell you they're going to be shooting you for a bounty they generally mean a contract. The terms are somewhat synonimous though we don't do contracts the same way the Mandos do. We work kill for kill, rather than collecting our funds in advance.

Quote:To conclude: Reavers as an official faction? I dont think so, until I witness hard proof (SS, different pics, Logs, etc) on forums OR in-game.

Hard proof of what.

Quote:Things to Improve: Rp mostly in completing the contracts, Display of purpose in Sirius, the Gank Factor.

There's pages of stuff on our contract work. Not really sure what to say about that. Our purpose is pretty self evident. Osiris' are hard to kill. Sorry we made it harder that one time.

Sorry, i was typing fast when I said the hard proof. I meant 'logs' and the such that state meaningful things about the reaver Infrastructure. I mean, shouldnt these Merc's be supplied (other than weapons) with things. WHo are your 'trade partners' any economy? If so than you need a central place of operations to hold that economy. Where is it?(I didnt see any mention of it other than the different backgrounds of th pilots.) Personally I think every faction should have a base that they work out of.

The 'contract work' i have seen on the forums. I havent witnessed them being executed (on OC or otherwise) in-game. Nor any RP that corresponded with the bounty/contract whatever you will.

Economy? Trade partners?

Last year I'd say we made about two billion credits. That's a kind of economy. I guess our trade partners would be the people who paid us? If you're talking about buying things like toothbrushes or ship repairs we get those the same places any other wandering jerk does. From locally available sources.

The closest thing we have to a central base would be the idea of Barrier Gate station in Coronado. As an group which operates across Sirius we base out of any number of central hubs.

For rp correspondence with the people we initiate contracts with I guess you could look in the communication or bounty sections. Those'd be good places to find that kind of stuff.

As for contract execution, well, I think you're pretty familiar with that already?

This isn't a double post. It's a battle station.

Does Adain's post really make you so defensive that you feel the need to be inflammatory? Jeez.

Ok this is gonna be a silly question. And note that i don't read up on any merc/fl/contract killer/bhg/hunter lore.

But what makes you guys different from other BHG? Mandos? Indie mercs? EDGE? And other little groups of friends?

Every time i've encountered a merc/hunter it's been one of three things:

"gr you pirate gr i have a bad ass attitude and i like money gr"

"u have a bounty. prepare to die" This one is mostly indies.

Or just no response to the presence of another at all.

He said he was familiar with it in his post. I don't see how this is inflammatory.

Although I'm sure Dusty Lens would be more eloquent, I would say we're simply competitors. Mandos and BHG generally work for lawfuls against unlawfuls. We don't make that sort of distinction. As for being different from "indie" Mercenaries... we're not throwaway Mercs. Everything we do has some sort of diplomatic backlash.

I think he just means to say that it should be obvious what it is.
