' Wrote:Ok this is gonna be a silly question. And note that i don't read up on any merc/fl/contract killer/bhg/hunter lore.

But what makes you guys different from other BHG? Mandos? Indie mercs? EDGE? And other little groups of friends?

Every time i've encountered a merc/hunter it's been one of three things:

"gr you pirate gr i have a bad ass attitude and i like money gr"

"u have a bounty. prepare to die" This one is mostly indies.

Or just no response to the presence of another at all.

That's a pretty broad range of questions. I'm not really sure how to address any specific point. Maybe read through some of the other questions people have posed asking what we're all about, the op and then ask again?

Not a brushoff, just have no idea what to make of this. Someone asked a 3 point question earlier about what we're doing, maybe you could read the reply to that?

I think the Reavers are perfect as they are, I wouldn't change a thing about them if I could.

Totally deserving of being official, though I don't see any benefits of doing so.

Got my support, not that it matters...

Ok, I think it has now been raised as an issue that the Reavers are "questionable" in some of their fights. This issue was then rebuffed by the 2IC of the group. Please guys, in the interest of not bogging this thread down with pointless drivel, can we move on to any other issues this faction or the faction status may have? Because trying to push the angle that the fact that the Reavers have some of the best pilots on the server on their roster, along with a carefully crafted diplomacy is in some way "incorrect" is by now bordering on (if not openly being) trolling. If what the Reavers were doing was harmful for the server, the admins would have made a ruling against it.

Now, this is a 2nd moderator warning. Action will be taken soon if people do not begin posting constructively.

Well I mean just gimme like the main thing that makes you guys unique. Anything! But the biggest anything besides being colorful and unlawful mercs.

Does that clear the question up dude? Soz 'bout that. :/

The admins would make a ruling? Somehow I find it doubtful that anything ever done by the Reavers will be brought before the admin team, including the weird weapon combinations.

I also find it amusing that criticism is deemed to be "nonconstructive". It'd be more effective if the requests weren't open for everybody to post in if criticism is met with such harsh responses, but what the heck do I know, right?

Get in good with us while you can, OSI is going to corner the market on toothbrushes. Oh wait, you're already the Official Merc Company of Omicron Supply. Silly me.

So far, the forum RP we've had has been fun, getting drunk whiling away our sorrows while the SCRA take over 14. In game, though I've maybe run into you blokes once? In passing? Possibly? Perhaps? Potentially?

In theory you're doing everything right. I've been stewing up some ideas to get you folks moving for us to see how you can actually handle yourselves, though.

I'm not entirely certain where all the ire is coming from. As a fellow greedy bastard, I can completely understand the mentality of going where the credits are. You're paid, you shoot, you make money off of shooting. If someone's done enough to piss someone else off enough to pay you to shoot them, I fully expect you to use as much force as possible to take 'em down. Gets the message across. No point taking risks on that. It's when we're doing naval battles or pirate/police encounters that I'll start to get fussy about numbers and evenness. That's all about having fun, not about making sure someone knows they've screwed up enough to make someone pay someone else to shoot them.

Moral of the story? Don't do anything to make someone want to pay the Reavers to kill you.

At this point, I've got no objections to a run at official. You've got enough history certainly. Perspective is everything, though, and I haven't really seen much of you. Hope that changes, could be fun.

Although I'm sure Dusty Lens would be more eloquent, I would say we're simply competitors. Mandos and BHG generally work for lawfuls against unlawfuls. We don't make that sort of distinction. As for being different from "indie" Mercenaries... we're not throwaway Mercs. Everything we do has some sort of diplomatic backlash.

Just wanted to correct something. Not technically correct, as Mandos have contracts with the Outcasts for example, or against the Rheinlanders. So that's not a difference.

For both to exist, doesn't mean that they have to be one the opposite of the other or so on, so meh..

Edit: back on topic. As I said in my first thread, no complaints towards the factions from my point of view, so meh, why all the ire?

Well. I'm looking at the above and your prior post. Which I think might have struck a little closer to the heart of the matter.

Quote:But what makes you guys different from other BHG? Mandos? Indie mercs? EDGE? And other little groups of friends?

I believe what you're looking for is an assurance of verbal conduct. The 'ol two lines should do but one is poo idea.

Hmm.

When the Reavers are amongst persons whom we're not firing upon I believe you'll see a high degree of character driven banter at play. Especially when you have a few of us together. While the Reavers are generally reviled by some as a collective any individual member is lauded as a good chap to have about.

If you're a target you'll find that we've adopted a Tuco policy. This has largely been shaped by time and experience.

If you're looking for a more philosophical outlook I would suggest that the Reavers are a gang of individuals who are loosely governed by the idea that stirring the pot will lose the meal ticket. After that actions are governed primarily by greed and inner demons. Whereas the MM~ are more of an army for hire and the BHG are a sort of universal litter removal service.

The Reavers will gravitate to where the money is. Our diplomacy has shifted enough with time to make that rather evident. We don't hold grudges and we'd just as soon work for, or against, you tomorrow once the paychecks of today have cleared up. Aint that right Mollies?
