My experience with the Reavers is similar to most everyone here.
They show up, they say "Bounty on your head, time to die" They open fire, I try to offer something, like paying more than they are getting payed. Try to strike of some RP conversation, try to run, try to fight. But you can only do so much against 5-7 Sabres at once.
This isn't flaming, Q_Q, or any other term dubbed by those who view any critiquing of themselves as whining. It's my observation, and the observation of others.
This <strike>may</strike> will get disregarded, but you wanted feedback...

Speaking from a different standpoint here, but still, should be noted.
I never even saw 7 Reavers online at the same time at the same place. And all of them in the same ship you say? Heh.
Anyway, since Im already here (again), Im gonna ask another question about that ID. If you ever do go official, and if you ever do get that ID, how would it work? I mean, the repninjas on the ID's is static, no? I mean, would you adjust the repninjas on your ID according to the contracts/jobs you take? I imagine you wont have the same allegiances all the time, since well, you're mercs after all.
I'm biased, so I won't comment here. Well, maybe just one thing.
A Reaver did the only successful robbery against my miner (apart from the indians, since it's hard to say no while facing six sabres). Well played. That alone should be enough for me to approve them.
Reavers have my blessing. 1 question: why is BHG on hostile?
We are competitors, and sometimes shoot at each other when bounties pop up. But I don't see a full hostility here. I think 'unfriendly' would match our relations better.
I believe the exact number I encountered on one of my experiences was around 5, maybe 4, but I think 5. I've seen lots of them on at once, perhaps some of them aren't really reavers, beats me.
All I know is that I see a lack of RP, No real purpose stated when you engage, and overkill *cough*Ganking*cough*
All those can be fixed, it's just up to the leader and the members to improve. Which is why I believe going official is not a wise move for you at this point.
Note: No, I have not been killed by the Reavers in the last 4 hours. In fact, I haven't seen one in awhile. I'm not emotionally compromised.
I hope Dusty won't eat me for posting here addressing your interrogations, but.

Well yes, they are mercenaries. They earn money by killing people, not by chatting with them. Judging the quality of a faction's RP by the number of lines they write before shooting on folks isn't smart. If you want to judge their RP, then check the members char's bios, their contracts, and so on.
Hi everyone. Drizzling where I'm at. Darn miserable. Let's see what we have here.
@ Smokey: I imagine we would have to set the repninja based on factions we go to war with. If we are required to be hostile to them as per the bounty rules we'd request a change. When the contract ended we would remain hostile, unless the faction against whom we were set as hostile opted to let us back into their graces. Like the Junkers deciding that since we're not shooting at them anymore and they would like someone dead they'll allow us to return to neutral status.

If you're ever actually walking along minding your own business and 7 Reaver Sabres come out of nowhere, shout engaging and blow you up, you send those screen shots along and folk will be removed.
That being said.
If you have something honest to bring to the table do so. I don't have any use for rumor mongering.
Stating that 7 Reavers attacked you is a lie.
You should be embarrassed.
@ Dashiell. I think the Reavers have made about three quarters of a billion hunting the BHG. Maybe more. For the Lane Hackers. For MercNet. For the Corsairs. For whoever might be paying at the time. You guys had a bounty on us while your board was up. We've claimed the prizes for BHG kills on both the Lane Hacker and MercNet boards.
Right now you guys aren't worth what you used to be, but you can still run up to about 7-8 million in Liberty about about 3 million outside of it. While standing policy is to be clever with engaging you guys in friendly house space you're still considered valid targets. In short, alongside the BAF, MM and Outcasts I think you guys are about as permanently hostile as a group could get. I think I offered a cease fire once in O-7 when we were both working for Daumann but we never saw any of you (that I know of) and no one returned my call. So, yeah, hostile I would imagine. Unless you think that situation could possibly change?
I'm gonna pitch in my two cents here. I haven't been back long, but I do remember the reavers from back in 07'.
The main thing I'm seeing in this thread is people who are against you for breaking gentleman rules in combat. And that's exactly what they are: gentleman rules. Not every one is a gentleman, especially not everyone in this line of work. In my opinion, this is not an issue. Yes, you may kill one of my characters in the future. Yes, I may get incredibly angry. But Ill get over it, and bounty you for it. Life goes on. Its a game for crying out loud! Being nice is not your role play. I'm cool with that.
Something else that should be pointed out: If you don't want to play with the reavers, you have every right to land and log out. No one is forcing you to play this game. That isn't to say that gentleman rules are wrong, I generally follow them, its just that they are not the epitome of everything.
The one thing that I can see getting under my skin in the future, Dusty, is you guys making a habit of creating Pirate/ninja/cyborg/dragon ships. From the list of technologies you have listed, this doesn't seem to be an issue yet. The thing is though, becoming official might bring with it the implied license to do whatever you want setup-wise. Not saying you will, just saying it might be a problem.
I say, go for it, I'm all for creative factions, ones that go against the norms. Discovery is SEVERELY lacking in such factions. Heh, I might even try to join, none of my characters are that soulless yet, but who knows what could happen.....
