' Wrote:Racers, Please forgive me, but there might be a new host for this race. I have other things to do.
You can't be serious.
This is no way to do it. Drop one line, plunge a whole system into complete chaos, force Admins to intervene in the complete chaos, leave a helpless Cody sitting there in the middle of disappointed players and racers, just like... "Oh, I won't be there. Hehe... sorry. And I'll tell you just as late as it can be done".
This was bad.
You really messed it.
And lots of people saw it.
If you want to organise something, if you create a huge fuss about it, then you can't just "not appear" in the last second.

Without a good organisation an internet event with random people can only end in chaos. If you want to ensure complete chaos, don't appear as the organisator and tell people about it just a few minutes before things roll.
And yes, it was the players. But the reason for their being bored and thus prone to lolwutism and OORP was that it was obvious that the event would be a fail.

RL>Videogames. Always. Unexpected things happen, deal with it.
People: Stop complaining. You got to enter a race for free For a change of winning almost 1 billion credits. If you had to pay to enter, then yes, you have a right to complain about it. But since you only had the chance for profit, you cannot.
I'm now thankful I was too busy with RL to attend =\
Well, we as the Congress tried to lend a hand. However, after about half an hour of waiting if was quite clear that it wasn't going to be a success. I really feel for Mr Cody, as I feel he tried his utmost to make a success of this.
Maybe next time, considering there is a next time, a strict enforcement of conduct must take place. It was a wonder anyone could keep track. My speech log was going crazy with people typing the same messages over and over again.
Mr Cody, you have my respect, to try and deal with that mess takes a strong willed person. I think everyone can now see that it really does take some organisation for a race like that to work out and those taking part need to realise that and behave properly. I saw many swear words and a lot of OORP whilst watching. I was actually hoping to have some fun while taking part but instead was dumbfounded by what I saw.
If the race eventually did happen, congrats. However, after the radiation "leak" of Cannon's, I had had enough and left Dublin.
It was a pity. I would have enjoyed watching a good race or two.
If another event comes up, I'm sure myself and other Congress members will be happy with watch the gates for you.
I do feel sorry for Cody and Wildcat. They did their very best and at one point even had a line up at the start line, but the behaviour exhibited by most of the attendees was appalling. One of them even had fans show up who would-not-shut-up when the organisers were attempting to organise. Then to add insult to injury (or was it injuries to the insult?) someone threw a nova torpedo into the mix and wiped out about 9 racers and Wildcat.
I think that was the moment any chance of a race happening got vaporised, - Admins arrived, shields went down. Players left, others started fighting. Appalling mess.
