Edit: this thread title has been changed to better suit some new developments!

I read allot of sci-fi and lately I have been on a piracy kick. In one of novels there was pirate trade ship described. Essentially it is like the current Junker bases, only on the move to better avoid authorities. This struck me as a great basis for a Junker Capital ship. After browsing my vast collect of ship art I found a rare star wars ship that had a good basis for the design. So I sat down and drew up some sketches and made some Illustrator drawings. (My thoughts on junker engineering is anything cobbled together and box like)

I would like to enter this ship into the Mod. Is there a shipwright who does not have anything on thier plate currently who can help me with this Baby?

Download the PDF

Thanks

-NEXUS

PS: That image is not complete. I am still working on an additional Landing pad to outrigger off of the right side but I have not made an effective design yet.

I'll have a go at knocking something together for you mate.

I'm not entirely sure about the design itself, but hey, I don't have to fly it if I don't want to, do I?

Give me a couple of days, then PM me, see how far I've got, if anything. Of even just buzz in here.

Question: Was the screenshot taken from X3-Reunion per chance?

NB: I will require a texturing/UV mapping partner. I've never learned and don't intend to yet.

This looks great, defininately very junkerish. Probably make it have about the same stats as the prison liner, or maybe lux liner.

Oh oh....I hope you haven't gotten too far ahead. the overall theme of the design has not changed, but Eppy noticed that the vessel's scale made it taller then the TL. Some revisions were in order. Here is the current comp. And yest that Reference picture did come from an X-3 mod. Which I am not sure.....

Anyway here is the current re-work. I have some stuff to do on the bow and engines. I would appreciate any suggestions. Also, if there is a part that you require more detail on let me know.

The Osiris is is there for a scale comparison. A top view, front, and aft view are still in the works. Those grey lines under the doors are external landing pads. The fueling arm has been changed into a type of claw arm and the doors on the side are flush with the hull. The bottom middle section (The one that is thicker then the rest of the bottom) is an open under belly docking bay. Kind of like those on a Star Destroyer.

I will try to finish the rest of the crucial views ASAP.

Not to nit-pick or anything, but after counting the amount of turrets between the two pictures..The first one has 20 turrets and the second one only has half of that? And for something slightly bigger than an Osiris, I'd have atleast 14 turrets, about 325-375k armor, and baaaaad manouverability. And a huge cargo hold.

I haven't finished the turret mapping yet. There are supposed to 4 mounts to the bow and I missed the ones on the right hand view. The aim is between 14-16 turrets.

Oh this has noting to do with the design but is a Big Buisness version of my overall concept, a trade ship that is a model base.

Once I'm finished with phase one of Kane's project I'll see if I can't throw something together for you to toodle around with.

Ahhhh....My bad on this thread. I had contacted Angel of mercy and he sent me this.

Quote:It will take a while for modelling, because i'm sure you want a fine model.
A month i would say for modelling.
Texturing will ba another chapter. In your interest it would be better to hire a more experienced person. I can do it, but it will take more time.

Will this be acceptable for you?

I miss interpreted what he said and made this thread! So modeler covered! I fraked up big time! So sorry everybody! Oh and this is what Angle has pulled of for me!

I actually -don't- think this ship fits. It's just too big for the Junkers. Junkers bases are in debris fields, they "comb the debris fields for salvage", they basically live in the asteroids and debris. I wouldn't touch this ship with a 10 foot pole as a Junker. They need a 1500 cargo hold ship with good maneuver.
