Though I preferred he development version where you could spin NPC capital ships into insanity. Sort of like Discovery: Players Strike Back - just with less Star Wars.
Maybe bugs shouldn't be removed, but the non-crashing ones safely contained in a blooper version of Discovery mod.
I have to say that - based on the information I got from the wiki and Deleos Mining guide - I find that the allocation of the Kusari mining is kinda odd.
Hydrocarbons seem to be handed to Samura for some reason. Now if we read the Nago (still vanilla) infocard it clearly says that they are Kishiro business.
On the other hand the Alien Organisms mining has Samura with the lowest multiplier according to the wiki and the mining locations in O-Theta and Hokkaido. This one has two weird issues in it.
First: Why Hokkaido? How did AOs come there? What sense do they have in that place? In vanilla AOs could be found in the cloud that spreads from S-19 through Beta to Alpha and on planet Kurile in S-17 and the surrounding cloud, but nowhere near Hokkaido. Not sure on the past of Theta.
Second: Why does Samura have the lowest multiplier while they have the (to my knowledge) only constant supply of AOs so far? AOs from Kurile are a vital part in Samuras operations on planet Junyo so why wouldn't Samura know how to get them efficiently? AOs aren't fuel, so the explanation on Samura having the older tech doesn't apply here. Furthermore, Hokkaido is dominated by Samura-projects, I actually doubt there are any Kishiro NPCs in that system at all, so giving Kishiro the higher multiplier while the mining field is in a Samura system doesn't make sense to me.
So I'm basically asking to give the Hydrocarbons to Kishiro and raise the Samura multiplier significantly (x2.5 per chance?)

Samura also has a hydrocarb facility in Tau 29. And I believe the Tsushima polymer plant is a Samuran facility.
As for any gun mining... I'd say no. Any ship able to mine with a reduced yield while using a mining turret... that I would not mind seeing. Heck, it'd give fighters something to stick on that rearfiring turret mount, that's actually worth using. It would also allow for transports and freighters to mine water, helium... and other abundant resources which are currently disabled or severely nerfed due to the current config.

Quote:Shinkaku Station
From Discovery Wiki
Shinkaku Station
Type Nobunaga class station
Owner Samura Industries
Location 5C, Tau-29
Border Worlds
Technical information
Gravity Complete
Docking Yes
Amenities Yes
Population 300
Shinkaku Station was built in 602 AS to provide Kusari corporate giant Samura access to the abundant ammonia, water, and oxygen ice fields present in the system. From these raw materials, Shinkaku produces the valuable Fertilizers and Terraforming Gases that Samura needs to remain competitive with Liberty food giant Synth Foods. However, the frequent attacks on Samura operations throughout the system by unidentified criminal elements have made extra security a necessary measure.
That's the Samura station in Tau 29. No Hydrocarbons there. The last station would be the freeport.
Tsushima Depot is indeed a Samura station,<strike> but its infocard merely states that Hydrocarbons are imported from Tau-29. Given the station ownerships there it seems we are buying them from Kishiro.</strike>
edit: In fact, the infocard and relevant rumours say that the Hydrocarbons are imported from the prison in Shikoku while another rumour says that Kishiro is capable of completely producing polymers in the Taus on their own.

Brilliant mate
' Wrote:Why Researcher? Miners presumably would be able to tell where ore is...
I'd give Reserchers a way to make money perhaps? Perhaps attract those who would normally not make such a char.
Although miners could just make a alt char to do that, but... maybe make the scan time take several minutes to discourage that? eg. Miners dont wana waist time switchin chars then the long scan when they can just pay a local researcher 1mil to PM them the best area to mine at the moment...??

1 million?
One miner pays, all the other in the same field get the info from the miner who bought the info. At least 5 million ... or maybe 2 million per miner ^^
There will be always someone doing what is not supposed to be ^^
