Ummm, the ID never said anything about not being a trader.
In fact, since it said that it can't use ships with over blah blah cargo,
I've actually made one into a robot trader.
I just trade back and forth and greet the "humans" in a way any human would, minus the "Ahoy, navy!" and changed it into "Greetings, human."
I also don't think this is "abusing" the ID, because it does seem pretty generic to me.
but that's just me, i guess.
Besides, in reality in-game, I'd like to think there are some robots that do other peoples trading for them.
Kinda why I made an AI train trader.
I don't need him to be a complete RP experience that goes out and talks to every single person in the entire universe.
Instead, I need him to trade, alert the officials about unlawfuls if needed, and do what robots do.... whatever they are programmed to do. *laughs*

As I've said, AI ID doesn't equal AI RP ID. They're quite different, in fact.
That's good, because I've been trading with it for quite some time.
But... i actually think it is a form of RP, though extremely, and sadly strenuously, different than that of normal "human" RP.
As a "robot" or as others say, "AI", you have to talk like a robot, in a sense, and talk about doing your job, more than anything.
Robot's, to me if they are traders, actually make trading MUCH easier on BOTH the House Militaries and Polices, as well as the traders themselves.
My logic behind this is that with the AI ID and being a trader, you HAVE to follow what the House Lawfuls say, no matter what.
They are human, and you are much less and weaker, thus you are their slaves until you may go back doing your job.
Sadly, this also makes pirating easier/harder.
But you can figure that out by yourself. *laughs*
True, but there MUST be robots created by humans that do what they say.
I mean, seriously.
Humans did create robots, or most of them, besides the Harvester/SMA, which came from somewhere else.
But the robots created by humans would be much different, without the "virus"(which i call it) that infect the robots and make them think(if they think??) "Why am I doing this for a human and not for myself?"
Though I highly doubt the AI programmed by the humans would be able to "think" that far ahead unless infected by a Harvester/SMA.

The AI ID doesn't say anything about being for a specific faction or the origin of the artificial intelligence, just that the vessel is controlled by an artificial intelligence.

Actually, that's what the thread is about.
http://discoveryfl.com/wiki/index.php/Sent...achine_Alliance - that's the roleplay background for the ships in question. If you don't want to follow it, you should not use the ID. This is not the point of canon roleplay, that's the point of common sense and game balance.
There are robots created by humans for sure - you can even meet them on stations, but, uh, sure, roleplay the robot in your usual ship, not in a AI Cruiser that supposes that you should follow some specific guidelines.
I'm pretty confused by the number of people who are looking for excuse to use their AI Core Cruisers for shooting things :3
