A nomad emerged from a connection of the ventilator shafts, making the shaft in which Eriksson and Dave where to break appart, dividing them. Dave continued to fell through the laundry shaft, but Eriksson was trapped at level minus three, two levels above the level he should be in. The roars from the Nomads were behind him, occasionally glowing in the darkness.
Joe was focussed and the warning did not startle him. He looked to his right and immediatly pointed his shotgun at the glowy shadow. The first shotgun round was shot from the gun, the schrapnel penetrated the nomad leaving some kind of residu on the wall. Still holding the case in his left hand he fired another round into the creature.
Joe : Is that all you got?!
He fired again and this time the creature fell towards the ground.
Jack turned towards Joe, with the smoke still coming out from the barrel of his shotgun.
Jack Aubrey: Don't worry, you don't owe me nothing, just a cigar when we are out from here.
They ran towards the position of the elevator, located at about 300 meters from their position. At their right they could saw an old underground trainstation, carrying cargo from the landing pad to the inner levels.
Jack Aubrey: Do you think that Dave and Erik are safe?
Jack and Joe continued to run along the corridor, they were focussed and thinking of a solution to the task at hand. They did not speak, only minor sentences from Jack to indicate which way they needed to go.
Joe noticed that the occasionall "roarings" were louder and became more numerous. He used to be cool in these kind of situations, but in those situations he always faced humans. And he knew he would always best them, seeing his aim was good and he knew where to shoot them to annihilate them. But in this particular case, it was damned hard to get a good shot at the things.
The case became heavier with each step he took. When they sighted the elevator he replied to Jacks question.
Joe : I don't know, sir. What i do know is that Erik has the shotgun from the beginning and that Dave can keep his head cool. Let's just hope that those two combined will do any good.
