The final metres were coming up, he did not know that Dave catched the Machinegun, he thought that Erik would. Seeing that Dave isn't the most muscular scientist in the world it might hurt him. Anyway, it felt good that that weight was lifted from his shoulders.
Joe : You all right Dave? I hope i threw it OK.
Joe to Jack : Sir, it seems they have stopped the pursuit. If we are lucky they might lose our trail and we can get out of this place. Do nomads know how to track?
He laughed while he thought about some nomads sniffing around the place and looking for footprints.
Dave : Well Joe, I don't know how I can handle with my right arm "damaged". I can't move it well, hope Jack has some extra Gel.
He interfered in Joe's question...
Dave : I don't think K'Hara beings have the olfactory sense so evolved, and they can't access a holographic floor pad to track our steps... so as far as I know not... only if they can connect with someone's brain and find the source of the signal.
Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding. - Sovereign
Jack looked around the place, they were in an old sort of bar, apparently left in the dust for a lot of time, several bottles of whiskey and Sirius Cola could be seen, the rust from the sinks, aswell for an old radio.
Jack Aubrey: We need to find that damned service exit, this place gives me goosebumps.
He saw an old leather seat, and he sat on it, being exhausted.
Joe : Dave, i lost you at "olfactory sense". Please, don't forget im just a marine. I know a lot about explosives and how to hurt people, and since some hours also nomads. But don't lecture me about these other thingies you like, since i dont get them.
Joe catched the bandages and focussed on bandaging Dave's arm. He mumbled something and seemed quite concentrated. After some minutes it was done.
Joe : There, that should do the trick. If not, heck.... we might amputate it.
He winked at Dave trying to comfort him that they weren't actually going to amputate his arm, he tapped quite firmly on the damaged arm and walked over to Jack.
