... since they can't see your ID and stuffs they do it whenever you have precious stuffs in your cargo hold. That's really annoying when you're Zoner and want to keep your rep as nice as possible...
Perhaps, some codding could stop this NPC's function?
I dont think that NPC's "Pirate" you cause of your cargo, but rather cause of your rep. Also they dont pirate you, they just attack you. Now if you mean having pilots of a specific faction onboard, that you may even be friendly with, I dont quite understand it...

They're taking much more than just pilots. Golds, Niobium... everything... and I'm neutral with them. And they don't attack you, in the beginning they're requesting for the cargo inside. If you're not giving it to them, they start shooting.

When you'r in cruise engine just kill engine as they will drop there crusing. Run from them till you'r out of range (2.3k+) then you can continue your route. OR get them to green rep so they won't pirate you anymore
And ye if you'r in asteroid field / scrap metal field then you'r out of luck
why dont put 1 unit of food , 1 unit of water , 1 unit of gold . or whatever in your hold , for some reason they always seem to go for that , instead of your big load ...

Better way to do this:
Stay in cruise, give them what they want. When you see that the demanded cargo is dropped off your ship, wait 1-2-3 seconds, and tractor it back in.
The NPCs will slow down to beam it in, and thus are subject to disappear from your scanners! Needs some practice though ^^
At least this is what I do in systems without lanes ... with lanes it's way more easier, just engage your cruise engines and head for the next lane ring without canceling the request window of the NPCs! Usually, you have enough time until the bots get fed up and decide to shot you down to reach the relative safety of the trade lanes.
