an osiris like reverse works best - if the battleship had a REARWARDS cannon ( but while practical - what faction would build that.... it kinda comes about cowardly to build a battleship with all its weapons pointing backwards )
in short - forward cannons are good for BHG tactics... which can be summed up like that : CHARGE!!!

Reverse speed of 60 + fw gun = more time to shoot it while reversing from incoming battleturtle. If it's firepower would be good enough to even the chances when the RM BS comes close enough for primaries - then it's good. Also did you mean BFG?




And yeah, it looks nice. I'd prefer i to be a bit less "not well-cared about" but ooh welll.

I was talking from an in-RP ship building perspective. Designing a forward gun for a Battleship in these fighting conditions is absurd. A rear firing cannon would be much more suitable.

Jousting a Rheinland Battleship is already decidedly suicide, and turning around once you're in firing range is even more so, since it takes a hundred years, during which the other ship is firing on you with sixteen guns of blazing plasma, and you can't do anything except pray you'll still be alive by the time you can turn around and return fire. By which time the Rheinland Battleship is probably too close to you any way, GG.

Your crusier is a superior design Luis. If anything it's the Battleship that should be changed to fit more with your design. Although there are things on your design that could do with some tweaks as well.

Possible solution:

Bump the forward gun's range up to 5k? That way you can take a few shots and turn at 4k.

Perhaps even 1 min long refire (so that it will be able to take potshots), but in return for the long refire, 2-3 HMs worth of damage.. or perhaps a EMP blast that would down a BS's shield in one shot.

Again, just brainstorming...
