Shutting down the OPG

Hi everyone,

As you all know OPG have been raising concens on the server for a number of reasons. Initially when I brought the OPG here I thought that I could bring a lot of our old roleplay ideals with us. I accept that many of the decsions I have made for the clan have been completely unnaceptable both for roleplay reasons and for general gameplay activity. Old habits as they say die hard. OPG philosophy has always been to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Id like to put out a few shouts to people who have shown great patience and tried (In their own way) to guide us onto the straight and narrow. Ares, Yanez, Global and Rakghoul. Despite what you may have seen in RP threads Im immensely impressed with you.

OPG will soon cease to exist on this server however many of us may well be inclined to stick around and maybe join other factions. I am not ruling out a return of the OPG when we have more idea of what we can do to get our philosophy right and not make a further hash of things.

So in short. I will be still be on the server however ALL OPG ACTIVITY MUST NOW CEASE until further notice.

Gentle,look your politic and diplomacy was unacceptable. you say opg will be allies/neutral to all pirate faction but that is impossible. you can not be friendly with outcast and with corsairs.what opg make when some from the sides call for help again the other side?nothing?or you go with allies again allies? or what you think corsairs make when see outcast/hessians ship in gamma docking on tripoli?(badder-hessians ship and tag,and first and second time i have him many times warned,many times i say him that i will escort him to the nearest Jh and HE open fire first.(when you will i have lot of screenshots,so it was not the corsairs who open fire first,but OPG)) you think they will neutral and accept that?or when opg tagget ship go to aplha what you think tehn outcast make?in outcast eyes are OPG corsairs and in corsairs eyes are OPG traitors that will be friendly with outcast.or when BSG attack outcast,and one of your ship fight on the outcast side.can you tell me how can be cosrairs/outcast neutral to OPG?only what i will say is all must choose a side.noone can be between sides.only neutrals ID.and i know that you will have no neutral id....

Im glad you made that decision Gentle, and you took the noble way out admitting things, which I wont point out. I haven't had much contact with you at all ingame, but this message of yours has really changed dramatically what I thought of you, for the better of course.

And Global right there outlined why it fell flat. You can always learn from your mistakes...kinda like me when I joined....

Thanks for the words of support. Indeed I have nowhere to run. This is not a decision based on our ability or desire not to fight but purely a case of OPG politcs and alignment have now become completely unplayable. Although you may see this as purely my decisions it has been also an attempt to accomodate too many opposing view points of the factions intalled here. It was my intention from the start to be more aligned to simply piracy however initially we were drawn into the corsair way. Most likely this was due to the strong sense of roleplay that we experienced around crete. This same roleplay was the downfall of our much mailgned clan.

I do intend at some point to resurect the OPG and will seek advice before doing so. Until Then I will most likely resurect a corsair character with no OPG tags and maybe play for some other factions in an unknown named character. I will happily keep in touch with all OPG until we have decided on a sensible and considered course of action for our future.

It is a small man that cannot accept his mistakes. And a smaller one still who intends not to learn from them.


OPG is big enough and smart enough to know when to take a backseat and have a good think.

@McNeo - dont worry i appreciate that your opinion of me was based on some fairly poorly constructed manouverings. i m glad we can make a fresh start and look forward to building a better relationship with you.

Well i always enjoyed fighting with you guys (with not against), so it was a shame how things turned out, i don't believe the fault was all the OPG though but thats another story.

Shame it got shut down, but to be honest, OPG's diplomacy was quite messed up.

Anyway, you tried your best not to go this way but it was so at the end.

I always admired your ability to deal with everything in character on these forums, like the bar fight, like the proud resistance to SCRA. It was fun whenever I met you in space or on forums, because I never knew what happens next...:)
