So I really think these two sides between "lawful" and "unlawful" shift sporadically in a place like Liberty. A lot of it has to do with timezones, which is what my observations over the past years tells me at least.
Unfortunately, people don't have tags, so they can't shoot unlawfuls

Everyone has both?
Hmmm yes, I do have a corsair.....but it is a cruiser, so I can't pirate in it.
Sometimes I go kill npc transports, or as I like to call it 'Commerce Raiding' in the cruiser.
Not everyone has a Unlawful ship they can pirate in, granted it seems a LOT of people do.
The main thing that bugs me is, if I was to turn up in NY in cruiser it would be 'WTF? Corsair in da house!' over the system, but if an Outcast shows up everyone is like 'Meh, yet another Outcast'.

Making profit is not god-given right. You had a bad day, next time it will be better so dont worry.
You can also find someone to scout for you, join trading faction or change your routes.

See that bit I've bolded?
Do that. A lot.
I don't do the same run more than twice on any particular day, it's asking for trouble with the number of pirates on the server.
A smart pirate looks for patterns and then goes and camps along the appropriate trade lane.
Yes, I get hit by pirates every now and then, but there are things I have learned over the time I've played on Disco that help make sure that it doesn't happen as often as it might.
It all depends on where you go man. But I'll admit pirates go everywhere. It's just unlucky you're run into many pirates in the same system dude, just try to go around.
Pirates destroy my fun too, looks like some people just want to roleplay a jerk to others.
