Water and Oxy are easy and quick to mine - and can be sold anywhere. Convenient low-value cargo anyone can get at..

I agree. But if sold at 1 or 2 locations for lets say even 1-2K it would really spread out some miners,and give newer players places to mine other then the current Gank zones. Most would still go straight for the high end ores,but would give some more flavor to mining. After all. When is the last time you have seen a player transport,or miner full of water,and oxygen? I do not think in my 4+ years here i have ever seen a train or miner loaded with it.

I guess you missed this part of Cannon's post?
Mining with non-mining ship combinations and hitting with a non-mining turret is again possible although at a greatly reduced rate. Both these changes are to allow guard/escort ships to assist miners if they have no enemies to deal with - prevents players from sitting around with nothing to do during group play.

You've not read the entire update log properly. Out of bonus mining is possible with any ship and ID now, although at a greatly reduced rate. Due to the very high drops in the helium cloud, it evens out - new players can mine there and fill up a CSV reasonably quick. A miner ID player can also fill up a train very quick with a Basalt or Dacite.

Then you have found a bug - something's not yet working as it should. Thanks for reporting.

[Edit] @Above: Junkers do not use the Hegemon for scrap mining. The Junkers use the Salvager for combined mining/hauling, which does get a scrap bonus.

When my trading character goes to Planet Nuremburg, he ALWAYS buys a BWT load of water;)It's one of the highest selling commodities on some routes :D

Cooperative mining is a reasonable solution to the mining issue, thus it will be less boring for some of them. So I think "we're back in business".

[*]Added a x1.0 bonus to the Corsair ID for Alien Artifacts using the following ships: Pirate Transport, Correo, CSV.

Downside is that most bases in corsair space don't sell mining turrets. Other then that. Good going!
