No FRIGGIN' WAY are we going to force people to pay in order to play on Discovery RP 24/7. Not on my watch.
Donating to the server is encouraged, but will be strictly voluntary.

Getting paid in beer, although tempting, is not the reason I'm spending my time here. I don't want another job.

On the other hand, getting beer as a thank you from the community is a bonus that lifts the spirit. Big difference there.

I mean no offence and i am not just asking for the hell of it.. but why do you even want NPC's? what purpose do they serve?(apart from mission ones)

they are just irritating, they interpt people tryiing to RP by randomly shooting, cause all kinds of miss-engagements that have lead toward sanctions.

There really is no need for them.

say you on a pirate char.. and all of a sudden you are screwed over by a spam of Cruiser missiles that you can't even see the cruiser as it's 5.5 K away, and thus you dont even get a warning about the missile because of the distance of the thing.


If you are in a fight, i think i have been in one or two fights where my oponant hasn't gone and started Bot farming to prevent their inevitible failure.

Meenwhile, there is lag on the server, and we want a way to combat this lag? well, taking out a needless presance of NPC's would be both a plus against the lag issues but would alsomake the quality of gameplay better for eveyone on the server.

Asking around, it isan't just me who has this opinion.

So again, i plead you to tell me..Why do we have NPC's?

any decant AI update would involve them steering clear away only scanning certain faction ID's plus AI-attack sheets being logged for each player to each base, IE meaning if they are only JUST neutral, scanned no matter what as not known as a trusted person. ETC. ETC.. and.. this ALSO meaning he wants to bring MORE NPC's to do this.. hey.. good odea of a comprimise but it will cause a PHeck load more Lag.

I hate when that happens. Especially in trade lanes when your trying to *Cough* pirate *Cough Cough*. It'd be nice to remove some or all of the NPC's, Possibly keep patrols at planets and important bases, but remove all the annoying pointless ones spread around in empty space.

maybe not remove entirely but certainly limit.

If it gets better I might try to pvp again. Till then I'm probably just going to stick with trading and chatting. Last night my bounty hunter got into it with a couple of the LR- and when your loadout is dependent on CDs and missiles actually tracking a moving target, it kills the immersion watching your credits and keypresses sail away in straight lines to no effect.

Of course, trading and chatting are what I'm good at anyway.

Where as this is a brilliant point, i would also like to question the 3 Battleship+cruiser+GB patrolls infront of every freaking planet, base and everywhere.. not to mention sit there and destroy them all, out of nowhere 3 more patrolls apear in a few minutes, i had no idea INRP such vessles which take years to make are able to re-built in a few minutes..
