Just a little correction if you allow me :

Gallia (country) = '(La) Gaule' / '(Les) Gaules' plural form is somehow obsolete.
Kingdom of Gallia = '(Le) Royaume Gaulois' / '(Le) Royaume des Gaules' can be both used.
House of Gallia = '(La) Maison Gauloise'
Gallics (people of Gallia) = '(Les) Gaulois'

Anyway, you did a nice job Enoch.

Edit :
Ah... Noble titles

Marquis / marchioness = (Le) marquis / (La) marquise / (Le) comte de la marche / (La) comtesse de la marche
Baron / Baroness = (Le) baron / (La) baronne
Count | Earl / Countess = (Le) comte / (La) comtesse
Duke / Duchess = (Le) duc / (La) duchesse
Prince / Princess = (Le) prince / (La) princesse

Right... I always get confused with the 2 spellings (the one with two L obviously stands for the General de Gaulle):P
Thanks ! I'll add your honorifics.

Quick update for the Maquis ; If you belong to that faction and want to sound cool, call yourself a Maquisard. That's how Resistance members in 1940-45 called themselves. Not Maquismen as I got to read once or twice.
Excellent guide, otherwise.

Feedback, insults, marriage proposals and declarations of fealty

Quick update from a trend I've recently seen in Gallia from some players:

''Va te faire foutre'' is a very mean expression. Don't use it.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

Yes, it's not something you want to say unless you want to end up banned.

Hi everyone.
I consider it's time for an update.

When I started writing this guide I had already noticed a few sigs, transmission bars, MD messages, etc that were incorrect. It's pretty much the reason why I made this guide in the beginning.
But back then, I thought : "I can't directly point people to the mistakes they make. I can't post on the forum telling someone : your sig doesn't make any sense. That would be rude, ya'know."

Well I changed my mind.

This post is both a bump and a repository of mistakes I found in people's RP when they speak French. So here I go.

Note : I realize that when reading this, some people might get offended (or not, I dunno really). Some may even think I am targeting a couple of particular factions. I'm not. Keep in mind my goal is not to point fingers saying "The guy that wrote that in his sig can't speak properly, lol". No. I'm just here to show you people who make mistake how to correct them. Also note that I'm fine either way. I won't throw you the gauntlet because you are making mistakes. This guide is meant to help you, not to blame you. As I said, it's ok to make mistakes. But if you want to throw a couple of French words in a conversation on the forums or in-game, why not make it look as authentic as possible ?

Let's get started.

- Vrai pour Sable!
  • I tried to figure out what it meant, I did not manage to. "Pour Sable" makes sense (it just means "For Sable !"). "Vrai pour Sable" just means "True for Sable"; I don't know if it means something in English either.
- Al lueta sion al lueta
  • No offense but that is just not French. None of the words in that sentence are in French. Doesn't mean anything in any language I know.
- The uses of "Moi"
  • "My ship" is not "Moi ship". It's "Mon ship" (or "Mon vaisseau). "Mon" or "Ma" is the possessive.
- Faction names
  • All the faction names present in-game are accurately translated, except for "Unione Corse". That should be just Union. That means the proper spelling is Legion, not Legione. It's Maquis, not Marquis. It's Île, not Îlé. And so on.
I'll update this regularly.

If you have any doubts about anything in French related to Disco, any question, if you need proof-reading or translations, if you like cheese, don't hesitate to post here or PM me.
