I have two points of argument that could throw this discussion in a variety of ways.

1). By Mal's own admission the Taz are based off of not very well known RL religion. However take a look at their behavior and just how often the idealisms of their 'faith' tend to show in the RP and in what form those take.

2). What are the elements of the Christian faith that wish to role play. How do they relate to the corsairs, and furthermore how would they enrich and interact with the RP of the other disco factions. Lastly, please ask yourself....is this idea just a reason to practice you faith openly on the forums and server.

I can understand the desire to want to do this, but there is a time and place. Unfortunately disco is neither.

be warned, no matter what religion this ends up being, the RM will probably hate you more, due to our (not so advertised) national religion being the Kirche du Grunnen Alders, or The Church of the Green Eagle. Basically it glorifyies everything about the Kanzler and that he is a Holy being who deserves humanities untol admiration and Worship. Other religions are not accepted by Rheinland and we will fight for the Glory of the Kanzler.

Anyways, interesting idea. I am interest to see how this fairs with the rest of the Community.

You see vape your problem is in how you choose to present this information. Rather then listing out your concepts, ideologies and behaviors, you used a comparison to an existing concept from another series. As such we all started thinking in the wrong terms.

I am fine with some fictional religion, but please try not to make it Christianity, or Islam, or Judaism in disguise either. RL religions and politics need to be left out of Disco. Like I've said before, no matter how hard you try, you are going to offend someone.

And, yes, please choose a less used faction. All four House police factions, a mess of corporate factions, and a few of the pirate factions (I think) are still available.

And to rebuttal Magoos earlier arguement that not all persons in a particular society are the same. You're right. However, anyone in Freelancer who is flying around with a Corsair ID is and should be acting like a pirate/criminal. It's role-play, and that is the Corsairs role.
