TLAGSNET is not RP, it's in-RP. RP is interaction between two people. TLAGSNET is one person looking at a list. It's a tool to help RP, it's not RP by itself.
An admin has already stated in this thread that TLAGSNET is insufficient for an FR5, and I'd bet that a screenshot of someone docking after you posted an obscure thread somewhere with a TLAGSNET screenshot isn't any better.

Who told you, we don't do in-game RP?
Of course we do, at the first time, the violator will be warned and kicked outside of rheinland. Then he's SoS.
' Wrote:This is total bull and not an excuse. RFP has a whole lot *less* to do than LPI, because Liberty is a whole lot busier than Rheinland.
The point of this tool is to generate more opportunity for police factions to have meaningful interactions ingame, not to remove the need to have any interactions at all.

Except that the incident in question, the violator was never warned and never kicked outside of Rheinland. No in-game RP took place.
Quote:I doubt that.
Make an LPI sometime and look at TLAGSNET. Or heck, just look at the player list. At any given time there are more people in New York alone than there are in the entirety of Rheinland.

In this particular case, there is no good reason why ingame RP couldn't be had--the officer just couldn't be bothered to go actually interact with the person and decided instead to just forward info along to the official faction to start the FR5 process.

Sure, via forum. But because he wasn't contacted, I didn't add the §2.2.4.1. to the entry. (violation of order)
Edit:
And why the hell shall we warn one? The laws are published. Anyone shall read them if he want to interact in Rheinland. (Dot)

As I said, Indies cannot be forced to non-canon RP.

And? there are more LPIs then RFPs around. So the police-trader-ratio is better there.

Not everyone reads the forum every day. It would be near impossible for someone who isn't a regular forum-goer to find a thread about them if they didn't know they should be looking for it.

But he's not interacting in Rheinland, he's trading in Rheinland and getting punished without any interaction at all. This, to me, seems pretty darn close to using the player list to impose in-game punishments based upon what system someone is in.
See what Zelot said:

By allowing your members and indies to have fines imposed (and, potentially, FR5s imposed, if the trader comes back) based solely on a TLAGSNET report, you're encouraging them to completely avoid the need for RP and still "win." Why bother chasing halfway across Rheinland to catch a criminal, and risk losing him (or getting shot down!) when you can just fire off a PM from the safety of a base and have the same effect? This just discourages RP.
Quote:As I said, Indies cannot be forced to non-canon RP.
But you, as the official faction, can do the right thing to encourage roleplay by not accepting reports that don't at least show an attempt to interact with the individual.

2 police for 15 traders is a worse ratio than the 1 police for 2 traders you've got going on in Rheinland. Anyway, the discussion about whose job is harder is departing from the original point of the thread.

I'd say that this point is a tad irrelevant. Forum is as valid for contacting the other characters as in-game meeting. It's not the problem of RFP, it's a problem of IC| and the player in question.

No, after he violated the Rheinland Laws, he was contacted via forum. This is an interaction. Once again, we should and would consider talking to deaf-mutes a sufficent roleplay on this server, otherwise the player with no knowledge of english that doesn't interact with you ingame or forum-side will be the king of the hill.
