About the Phantoms!

So I was thinking, now that the official phantoms were disbanded (real shame, no more red falcatas to shoot down :lol:) would someone be interested in a phantom faction using all their tech and bases, along with their ID and all, but with different roleplay? Such as being a primarily information gathering and selling faction, specializing in massive espionage acts, as will be the case on alternate discovery universe server. To me, this would be a perfect role for the Phantoms, it would encourage a lot more RP.

But firstly: is this even possible, given the status of the phantoms as it was before disband? Would people even bother doing something like that? Discuss!

One of the main reasons that I gather as to why the Phantoms choose to disband was because an actual terrorist or terrorist faction cannot exists on this server without the rest of the community working with them. Other than shooting other players, what can they do that shows they are terrorist without power/meta gaming?

I'll use Joker as an example, he has successfully role played a terrorist character because people played along with him. Without the community working with them, it isn't possible.

As for your suggestion about being intel brokers; you can do that without the Phantom tech, IDs, or bases.

I believe it was the wish off the former members (at least leaders) that the Phantom faction are to remain disbanded.

I personally feel that it would be the best way.

Leave the faction dead please, unless the former leaders says otherwise.

Well, the only reason I wanted to use phantoms was a; they have a cool looking cruiser, b; it'd be cool to have "phantom" as IFF while taking snapshots of different fights taking place etc etc. Of course other factions can be used as intelligence brokers, but phantoms have this ring to it, y'know?

Yes, genius, except the KPT can't sell information to Bretonia for example. The Phantoms could spy in Liberty for Rheinland and vice versa. Also, the Phantom toys are only good for their LOOKS. Honestly, their ships are terrible, and their guns are... sad, to say the least.
