seems similar to the teensy, but might prove to be a little different. I like how you can use a throw switch, and it only activates the key for a brief moment (2235-DP).
I think I was looking at those a few years ago back when I played FS2004, actually. Forgot about that - it'd be a very simple solution to use one of those along with GlovePie or a similar program to translate standard HID/Joystick button presses into keystrokes, but I've got my Teensy plus program to run it worked out on a breadboard already for quite a bit less money - seems like a better and more versatile setup, in my opinion. I'm pretty much waiting for a few more buttons and a good idea for a case/layout to finish mine. But thanks anyways.:)

Darn cool stuff you've got there man! The feeling while playing FL using your controller would be really hmm extraordinary.

Hey guys,
I wanted to quick give an update of my 2nd controller i'm building for Freelancer This one is going to have some new components and switches ... we'll see how they work. Between building this one, and the first one, i also built a panel for IL2 1946, Hence my brief hiatus (and currently have plans to make some for individual aircraft in Cliffs of Dover as well).
This control panel should be a little more ergonomical then the last, and should also have a switch that changes the mode of the joystick from strafing to nose steering, (see switch at bottom right corner of the joystick base) This function was a recommendation from one of the board members here.
Anyway, here's 2 pictures of the current build under construction. Unfortunately, tomorrow morning i have to leave for a 3 week work trip, so it'll be a little bit before any more updates.

I've been thinking about hooking up an old PS2 controller for ages but have never quite found the time to do it.

That's easy. GlovePie (or similar software - haven't tested this one myself yet, but it seems a lot easier to use than GlovePie) + One of these (PS2 controller to PC/USB converter), and a few minutes for setting up key binds for the joysticks and buttons.

Sorry for the long delay in any updates (been gone for 3 weeks on a work trip) anyway, I've got the back panel set, now it's on to paint and wiring and it'll be done.
(considering something different then the previous prototype, where i spray painted it and put the labels on myself ... we'll see if my new idea works out, hopefully future pictures will show)
