Custo' slid into a seat opposite Skyelius with a drink in hand. 'Hola hermano' Custo' took a sip of his drink. 'You know that Outcast destroyer you saw off? Well he came back a few times. Once with a few UOG freinds. Acutally I'm not too sure if they were together... Ah well they're dead now. My Titan has been towed back to Crete as well. That destoryer made a real mess of it. Should be alright for a raid on Alpha some point later though... The reapir bills gonna be awful...' Custo' settled down and prepared to finish his drink.

'I'll launch as soon as the Titan is finished...'

"Hehe well done brother." Skyelius replied, happy to see the satisfaction of a Corsair who had done his duty.

"I'm happy that you Benitez have your pants where they should be, unlike other fools out there. Sometimes it's better to shoot first and ask questions later but to always know who you're shooting at, now that's another story."

"Si, it's true. And we are ready to defend our home with our lives.", Custo affirmed.

"I know, I'm sure of it." Sky put the cup on the table, and looked back at the Elder's table.. they were looking back, a quick nod in the distance from one on the Elders, then they were back to the talk. Custo sipped his bottle once more, and Skyelius grasped his forehead, letting him and a few others know the indecision he was going through. Suddenly, the bar door opened and another pilot walked into the lounge.

~Farquar watches Juan leave with a feeling of dread. He turns to the newcomer and forces a smile~

"Welcome, hermana Teresa." ~Farquar peers into her face~ "Yes... Yes, I see your father. He always spoke very warmly of you."

~But Farquar's brow becomes lined with concern. He stands~

"Forgive me, hermana... I'm afraid I must take my leave as well. I... there is something I must attend to. Brother Ares." ~Farquar nods cordially and quickly departs~

Feeling a bit strange, and with Custo off to engage the Outcasts, Skyelius went to another table, this one closer to the edge of the lounge. He was troubled, too aware of the divisions withing his allies, and dark traces of second thoughts began to cross his mind. He remembered the old oracle that summoned him once, and it was a scary memory. Pedro Alonso was worried about him. He had asked for a bottle of rum short after his coffee, an this was most unusual for him. Sky drank the rum as if it were water, but he was as sober as ever.

...due to the importance of past few posts I moved them to the Corsair Council Chamber, where they belonged anyway...

That day was crazy...

All Elders she sat at the table when suddenly, one by one, disappeared leaving her with her own thoughts. But that wasn't the end. Elder Montoya came with that shocking order, threatening all corsair young pilots that if they don't obey the Brotherhood, they might even get killed by our hands.

But the real shock came later... Due to some unknown failure in the communication links, out of nowhere, last message, from her father came. Very late indeed. It looked like a testament and it contained some of his unspoken thoughts and wishes. New Elders? Yes, those two seemed like a very appropriate choice. Stopping to use Nomad equipment? Teresa had to agree. Nomad threat was finally faced correctly. She spent some time in Delta, she knew all she needed about Nomads.

But the last wish! Absolute contrary of Montoya's last statement. Juan really had to start heaving headaches after that one. Father begged us to defend out corsair brothers at all costs, no matter what they did. She felt sorry for SCRA pilots, especially Ares, but one part of her had to agree with her father, to a degree. What a dilemma.

Maniaco's testament, and Montoya's corrected statement, of course, triggered a lot of emotions and quick replies. Teresa's Comm Device beeped almost every minute. She was so excited that she had to order another espresso. Coalition pilots felt betrayed. She didn't know what to do at first, but then she decided to support Montoya's and Skyelius' statements.

Then Teresa read Ivan Voronov's message and shook her head. Why should she decide whether they should stay or leave? She didn't understand it at all. She was just a new fresh recruit, with limited experience. Her thoughts were running forth and back at light speed. After some period of time her sight stopped at the bar entrance. Look who's coming...

If I die, I forgive you, father. If I live we shall see.....Teresa Chavez

Ivan walked into the bar, not sure whether or not he'd be search again he left all of his weapons in his ship. He hadn't bothered to try the key to his old room on Crete, as the lock had most likely been changed. It was annoying to Ivan how the Corsairs stared as he entered the room, usually he was greeted with kind faces, screaming, and cheering, not today.

Ivan saw Teresa sitting in the northern corner of the bar totally alone, exactly what he wanted. she appeared to have a lot of things on her mind, but quickly acknowledged him when he was within view. Ivan sat opposite of her, they stared one another down for a few seconds. Ivan wondered if she was trying to read him as he tried to read her, he didn't see any hint of dislike, but there was uncertainty in her eyes. He remembered seeing her once at a party, he hadn't really gotten a good look at her now and she looked to be about his age.

"Ivan, are you just going to sit there admiring the view all day or did you have something important to say?"

Teresa's comment brought Ivan back to his senses. He was still thinking of the right words to use, it was quite hard to have a woman smiling at you from across the table when you had something important to say.

"Well Teresa, I'm sure your aware of the situation between the Coalition and Corsairs. The relationship is deteriorating, the reason I've asked you to decide whether or not I continue to protect Corsairs is simple. Not only are you a fresh recruit, but I'm more interest in protecting you than most Corsairs.

Don't take this the wrong way, your the last remaining piece of Pedro's legacy which is as dear to me as any Corsair. Know this if you do not wish that I stay then I won't. If you wish for me never to return then say so. As I stated on comms the choice is yours, Teresa Chavez."

"Ivan, look, I have disagreed with my father all my life, so why should anyone care whether I support his decisions now when he's death? Yes, I am his bloodline, but so what? That doesn't give me any privileges."

She made a pause and continued: "Do you want to know my opinion? OK, then listen. I like you guys, you are reliable, you're excellent pilots and you are loyal. However you tend to escalate every little misunderstanding and deal it like a blood feud or something. We of course run after your help, but you can't expect us to start shooting those who don't approve our relationship. I mean, your ships are still Xeno tagged, which means some of our younger and unskilled brothers may be confused and make some wrong actions. We do our best to explain them all how to behave, but it's impossible to talk to every single corsair. We wouldn't be doing anything else. And there are also other corsair factions than the brotherhood and you shouldn't stay between us if you really care for the Corsairs."

"You want to help us protect Corsair homes? What if you guys had the Corsair alignment, would that be too much? That would actually solve a lot of things. I, of course, want you to stay in Gamma with us but you should ask for the Elders' point of view, not mine. And don't look at me with that caring look in your eyes, my friend, or this espresso cup could land right between your eyes."

She finished her little speech, smiling at him and waiting for his reply...

If I die, I forgive you, father. If I live we shall see.....Teresa Chavez

Despite Teresa's claims to propel the beverage into Ivan's face, his expression did not change. Ivan was a bit taken aback, he could tell if she was actually serious about the threat, as she had smiled throughout the duration of the conversation. Ivan couldn't help himself at this point, and began laughing.

"It's funny, you say you've disagreed with him your entire life, your father that is, but you remind me of him so much. I've already dealt with the Elders, I told you before this is between you and myself. I wish I could do something about the Corsair alignment, but it isn't my decision. I don't believe it's that hard either, but I don't run things in the Coalition, sorry.

As for the Elders, like I said already dealt with them. I am glad my name appears to have high praise here, but I won't take the names of my comrades being soiled on. I'd do the same for you, so don't expect different for anyone else, nor should your "Elders" after all we've done to secure Crete I thought maybe we'd be respected a little.

About how the concerned look, get used to it. I'm glad you trust me to stay, I'm hoping this gets cleared up soon. Until such a time think of me as... a "Guardian Angel."

Custo' wandered in with a grin from one side of his head to the other. If it had been any bigger the top of his head would have fallen off. Sensing the atmosphere that was crakling around the bar like ball lighting Custo's grin downgraded it's self to a worried smile. He brought a drink and wandered off to a lrge group of pilots he recognised. He had been test piloting one of the new Corsair bombers, the Praetorian. It reminded him of his Titan, exept for two bulges on the tips of the wings that housed torpedo launchers. He had enjoyed using it in one of the secret locations used by the flight crew... He had one reserved. He pulled a pict recording out of his flight jacket that a wingman had taken of his ship as it readied to leave Crete. My god, the enemies of Crete would drop like flies soon!
