What if everyone actually paid the pirates?

When it comes to pirates, we all have our opinions right? I've never been good at piracty myself though I admit its fun and thrilling as hell.

But the question here is this. If every trader that got stopped paid up, would piracy get better or worse? As in more frequent or less frequent.

Pirates need money as do traders right? To feed their other characters and what not and not to mention, have fun!

Do you think if traders paid the pirate more that the piracy mode would get better? As in the frequency or even the amount they ask?

There is a lot of rage about piracy and people paying and not, but what if they did?

Probably more frequent. As it stands, right now almost all traders pay me when I pirate except for people who aren't really that smart (like the one who couldn't speak a full sentence).

Go try paying everyone of 'em, they'll never stop coming.

It's like giving a squirrel some nuts, once it knows you have them, they'll remember the place, and they'll keep coming, and bring more squirrels.

As long as the taxing fee is fair. Traders should pay, and it'd make everyone happy.
If taxing unfair -> Trader dead (unhappy), pirate pew pew'ed (blue message, happy)

Therefore Pirates are always happy.
When I pirate, I'm only unhappy when there's no one to annoy.

I like when they don't pay....gives me something to blow up....

Anyways, I also don't consider my main pirate char a big money maker, and don't log into my pirate expecting to make any significant money (although the occasional unprotected gold convoy is a different story). I have a trader and miner char to feed other chars money.

I pirate for the interactions....piracy really doesn't pay that well, and pirates who try to make a living to support their entire account are the ones who demand 20 mills from a camara and give the rest of us a bad name.

Pirate for the rp interaction, not for the cash....that's my opinion anyways.

EDIT: Hmmm, might want to actually answer the question of OP, yes?

I ramble when I drink....anyways, I think piracy would probably become more frequent, and also far more boring, if every trader automatically paid up....the fun of being a pirate is doing the bad stuff, and a big part of that bad stuff is making silent/defiant traders pay for their shortsightedness and disregard for my ability to deliver delicious

Piracy is probably going to get worse and worse regardless of whether traders pay or not.

If traders pay, the pirates get confident with themselves and expect payment, makes them more pushy and demand for more and more.

If traders don't pay, the pirates get frustraited and will become more violent, and start demanding more since they get paid less often.

This. If I'm pirating, i pirate for the rp. Most I'll ask for is 2 mil. And ya, if someone is charging more than 5 mil, they're no pirate. They just give us real pirates a bad name.

Ontopic I think if EVERYONE ALWAYS paid, then pirates would demand HUGE amounts, often.

If more people paid more... hmm, I dont know, either pirates would start deamnding more often but less amounts - as they know they wont have to make up for the traders who dont pay - or they will just charge more, because they are more confident about being paid, I just dont know.

No. They would demand more and more up to the point traders wouldn't pay and pirates would be able to get blue message.
Or they would make few pirate characters to metagame and pirate same trader/convoy few times on the same run in order to get more money or chance to he blue message.
