3. I currently own a large hulled mining ship equipped for mining gold in my home system, and with the aid, and protection of the IMG i hope to be able to mine freely and help support those who would defend me while mining

For the longest time my brother and i mined and traded helium as unaffiliated independents. It was fun for a while till the pirates started to trickle in. We were making good money till one day we were brutally attacked by an outcast. My brother managed to get away but i wasn't so lucky. Spent 4 days in the hospital...quite frankly i was lucky to be alive. After that indecent it was clear to me there had to be a safer way to make a living in Sirius. while trying to find work my brother and i started to practice flying combat ships. One day I heard about IMG from my brother and i looked into it. I have to say i agree strongly with IMG's diplomacy. I feel neutrality is key for a functioning galaxy. However there are those out in the galaxy who do not feel this way and would much rather pick on the weak for...fun. I sympathize with there victims, and i will not have innocent blood shed for sport. I wish to join the IMG defense wing so fellow pilots wont have to endure the same fate i did or worse. I understand that peace is the utmost importance. If accepted i will ensure that peace and safety will always come to the IMG.

To whom it may concern:

I have been trading around the Border Worlds for some time now and have recently decided to pursue a career in mining. Pursuant to that decision I have acquired a mining vessel and set off to Dublin, where I now sit. Whilst here I met a couple of individuals from your organization and, after some interesting experiences, have decided that I would like to make the Independent Miners Guild my home. I am open to any position within the Guild as suits your current needs. I simply ask that I be given enough time to locate a vessel and equipment appropriate to my new role.

That said, allow me to address the four points requested. As I have mentioned, I have been trading around the Border Worlds as an independent trader. This has allowed me ample time to see how things really work out there in the Border Worlds, and that leads me to the next point: the purpose of the IMG.

The Independent Miners Guild seems to be at the forefront of discovering new and interesting (often hazardous) locations in which to ply its trade. This adventurous spirit, coupled with their desire to remain as independent as possible, is what I view as one of the greatest assets of the IMG. It goes without saying that to achieve both goals, the Guild must be ever-vigilant in determining new sources of minerals and defending our ability to mine them.

This appeals to my sense of independence and desire to explore, and I know that I can help the Guild find, acquire, and defend the vast riches of Sirius. I am able to adapt to new situations quickly, even under duress, and I have an inclination towards exploration. It is my belief that these two traits will be useful to the IMG as you will be able to employ me in a variety of situations, including expeditionary work.

It is my hope that by joining the Guild I shall be able to continue the excellent experiences that I have already had with members of your Guild. I further hope that both the IMG and I will profit greatly from my membership.

Well hiya there. Name's Ethan McGee, not sure if you'll have heard of me, though I've been in at the edge of this lovely Guild organisation here for a while now. Anyways, long story short, few weeks back I had a chat with one Mister Henderson down in Dublin after giving him a hand with some bothersome Hogosha who were buggering around with the local populace and whatnot, as well as guardin' a few of your miners afterwards. He mentioned that I should apply for this here Core guild, and so why not? Took me a few weeks to swing back by the Taus, but I'm in transmission range at last.
Anyhows, yeah. I've been captaining the Dashing Rainbow for quite a while now, taking her all around Sirius moving stuff from place to place and dumping a few credits in the old Guild funds every time a swing by; you know how it is. I'm also captaining a Nyx, the Flashing Rainbow, that I keep tucked away onboard the Dash unless she's needed. So, considering they're my two ships, I wouldn't mind getting them registered with official core IMG transponders and somesuch. I'll probably be basing out of the Taus and Java more often now that the kerfuffle with Rheinland is winding down, though it'll take some convincing to get the crew back in there. Loads of scars from the Freistadt altercation still sore, y'see.
But yeah, anyway, the Flash could see some good use up helping out with Java defense, and the Dash would be a useful addition to your transport fleet, I guess. Besides, we're a bloody Guild here; the whole point is that we're all helping each other out, and the more I think about it the less sense it makes to be tiptoeing around the main body of the organisation.
So yeah, to cut -that- short, your Dublin man Henderson put this idea of Core application in my head, and I thought I'd give it a go, so here it is for you to paperwork and officialise and rubberstamp and quantify and all those other things people love to do to applications.
