Just in the past week, I had to clear all of my Firefox 4's cache and cookies twice because Javascript has stopped working. How does it stop working, you ask? I don't have a clue. All I know is it renders Firefox useless as hotmail, youtube, playdota and practically every site I regularly go onto use Javascript.

If you know what's happening here, I'm looking for a permanent solution. I don't wanna clear my cache and cookies everytime this happens because I lose my login sessions.

Download a new installer file from Mozilla, then reinstall with that.

Or just use Chrome/Chromium.:P

I haven't had this issue, also hotmail/youtube/big sites usually have backup support for browsers which don't support scripts.

Are you sure it's a js issue?

Reinstalling FF should solve the issue.

I'm pretty sure it's a problem with Javascript, Youtube, Yahoo, Hotmail are all js based and their layouts were messed up.

Also, I'm not too fond of a complete reinstall of Firefox. Can anyone tell me what I have to backup if I plan to reinstall or is Firefox clever enough not to delete my favourites?

do you have noscript install?

and importing to IE is no good.

go to bookmarks -> show all bookmarks -> click import and backup -> press backup.
