It's not a "must be." Rules are made to be broken. Every good rule has exceptions.

I knew a lot of Corsairs at my time, even now i know quite a few elders. So should I go around skype telling them "Ye you know me, we pew-pew'd in O-91, i want a hessian gladiator now k?"?
Skype deals should be forbidden. Every approved request without RP background should be sanctioned.
That is abuse, gentlemen. What Hexx is saying obviously isn't, but using your position to give out technology to people you know orrply is abuse.

There are tons of factions who share a good portion of their members, that's no secret. Some groups like playing together, in different factions, nothing wrong with that.
However, if they start giving out technology to each other (or even better, to themselves (and there are a few examples of this)) - it's called abuse.

To sum it up. If Corsairs are not approving tech requests in roleplay, they shouldn't be giving anything oorply either.

That would be true if every faction shut down tech approvals which is not the case.
There are factions that are more happy to share technology and some that just don't do it for RP reasons.

Can't you accept the fact that some equipment you just don't get outside of the NPC faction?

Back to the OP..I read every single reply, and I find the whole point of this thread to be...nonexistent.

Hexx, from what I'm reading, you are being unbelievably hypocritical. You tell people they are not allowed to judge your character's roleplay, yet you judge them, and accuse them of abuse.

My two cents on the tech permissions:

I've had quite a few permissions, too many some would say, been denied some as well. Back then, I thought it was right that way. Now...not so much. As far as I see it, everyone should be much like the Corsairs/Xenos/Blood Dragons/Outcasts and so on. The reason is a very simple one: guns and ships are probably a group's most precious owning, they should not give it away to the first group who comes along asking for it. Also, good roleplay =/= appropriate roleplay. I can write the best story ever, but if said character is, say, hostile to Corsair, they should never give me technology, IRP, intended. Yet my roleplay is very good. Everyone thinks their roleplay is good. It doesn't automatically make it so.

To sum up: good job Corsairs, you made the right call. However, a bit what Ashes said, simply ignoring every request (provided that you do that, I'm not actually sure xD) is very...pathetic..even if you propably will deny it.
