Waratah asked me personally, after his first tempban, if he could post using one of his alternate accounts. I told him that as long as the tempban was in effect, he could not post in any thread, with any account. He complied.

After Waratah's last ban, he posted using an alternate account. The Moderators chose to tempban his alternate account, Mimic, the one he used to violate his tempban.

I understand the frustration Waratah must have felt to be tempbanned. However, he had full knowledge of the rules and chose to violate them anyway.

In the "Moderator Notices" topics, moderators as well as admins will publicly post the tempbans that they have issued to players. To avoid causing clutter and an unnecessary long topic, only moderators, admins and the suspended member will be allowed to post in these topics.

Does green beat yellow? Are the rules unclear enough to give Waratah the benefit of the doubt? If any other member had read that and posted, would they have been banned? I doubt it, but eh.

I think there is confusion, or at least ambiguity over whether you can post or not in your own sanction thread during your sanction to request clarification.

I mean sure, you can contact Administrators on PM, but there is no transparency with that system at all. And posting in your thread after the sanction is over makes you look like a trouble-maker that cannot accept their sanction. The community's society operates that way. The system as it is now does not permit much questioning by the sanctioned to openly contest their sanction and have it reviewed.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

That's not so good, is it?

well for they are only for 48hours max right?

Why cant u jusr appeal it after ur banns up?

There was a complaint because your signature violated forum rule 1. Specifically:
Quote:Adult content or links to adult content; This includes any anime that is in any way slightly graphic or pornographic;
So it's been removed.

Yes but will you respond?

I think this rule needs to be fixed.
You are deemed guilty and not allowed to defend
yourself untill the 48 hours has passed, and as Nooblet
mentioned, by then it looks like your spouting sour grapes.

I would cop a sanction or ban on the chin no problems , when its deserved.
But the fact some mod interprets what i write to be bannable,
when it infact is the total opposite of what he interprets, demands anyone
in this situation to be able to ask why b4 the 48 hours is up.

Also if i said Makc RU's work was not professional i could understand, but i didnt.
I said my work would be of a professional quality and this was due to the credits involved.
And at this time there was a heated discussion of what sigs were worth
and the quality of work . So i stated that my effort would be professional and worth it.

Now this shows that a ban happy mod needs to know both sides of the story,
before he goes off his own interpretations. And to do this you need to be able to
post to explain the other side of the story.

A player using alternate accounts to bypass a ban is not permitted. This was explained previously to the member in question, who has been warned in the past. We have several incidents of violation of forum rules on record for this member.

Only people involved in a sanction may discuss that sanction. Members do not moderate the forum, moderators do. Therefore if the member wishes to discuss it he should do so in the sanction report. Other players may not discuss it, regardless of how "draconian" they think a 48 hour ban on forum posting is.

The reason for the 48 hour ban has been explained already. Yes, it is subjective, but that is the nature of forum moderation. More than one or two moderators would describe your post as inflammatory.

Further discussion should take place in the appropriate thread.
