Eh yeah. Mixing the native language of a House with English doesn't make you a good role player. Learning the mentality and social structure of its populace and basing a character on that does.

Yep, you are right. It doesn't. But kudos for using the "ae", which makes it outclass 99% of all chatter that's going on in Rheinland.
' Wrote:PS: All that Japan speak goin' on in Kusari? I think it's silly. German speak in Rheinland? Probably equally silly (though I understand it so less silly to me). At this point in human history, we probably have developed a universal language already. We might have different dialects, seeing that we're all lightyears away, but everyone should really just be speaking English or human or whatever.
I can go with local forms of hailing and maybe insults, because that's what we have in RL anyways and probably will even have if we manage to develop a unified language. I'm fine with ranks too. Everything else is just annoying. If I get more, I usually ignore it. If the person keeps addressing me I point out that messages have to be in understandable english.
However, the main reason I can't settle in with Rheinland probably is that the players seem to always turn it into a Bavaria-rip-off, which only comes to my mind as the part of Germany with the most separatist tendencies in history. I know, it's the typical American stereotype of Germany, but it's like wondering why people in New York aren't wearing their Cowboy-hats all the time.

Yeah, I'm trying to remove all forms of accents from my characters since:
A: Translators turn it to your native language automatically in lore
B: Easier to read plain English (for me at least)
Meh, I do sometimes say things like "ja" and Volksfront members call eachother "Genossen"(German word for comrade) though that last thing is something that has been a policy from long before I joined.
Well, it would definetly affect my choice if there was a House of Romanov from ooold evolutions mod.
As of now, I just pick random things. Although having my own preferences, like I would prefer corsairs over outcasts, or lawfull characters over unlawfull, etc.

Kusari is very proud of their culture, very proud of their traditions and they're generally very old fashioned. I don't know about Rheinland, but when you fly into Kusari, everything is upside down and back to front, there are lawful-unlawfuls, the people are racist and things are unnessesarily green. I see Kusari as ever refusing to accept a universal language.
Well since I am from Slovakia not a single thing in FL is familiar for me. However somehow Kusari is the most familiar for me. And Liberty, but Rheinland, Bretonia and Gallia is the most unfamiliar.
