Sev gulps slightly, not even considering what Eva insinuated. Within an instant, her stunned expression gave way to embarrasment as she stammered to continue.
"Well...uh...I'd like my suit back, thanks...is it still in one piece?"
She seems to think, mouthing words as if attempting to read a book in her mind. "And...do you have a defibrilator? Or some sort of electrical current?" blinking at Eva, her request seemed sincere, though the pokerface she had kept throughout their meeting left some measure for doubt.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
Evangeline turns around to face the wall behind her, opening one of the inbuilt cupboards. She pulls out the remains of the suit, torn into pieces and almost unrecognisable as being an item of clothing.
Sev looks remorsefully at her simple bodysuit, then sighs. Thinking for a moment, she unceremoniously pulls the top blanket off the bed, wrapping it around her like a cape to cover herself, walking towards Eva.
"Well...to fix it, I guess."
Using one hand to hold the blanket closed around her, eyeing Eva's strange look, she used the other to take the shredded pieces of latex-esque material that made up the suit. The majority of it was in a single piece- with a second segment half that size, and several chunks of varying sizes. She grimaced at the smaller pieces, seeming to make sure it was all there.
"Should be enough...can just make more later, or it'll be a little flimsy, but...it'll do..." she muttered to nobody in particular, none of which made much sense to anyone who might've been listening.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
Sev shook her head, kneeling on the floor and already starting to assemble the tattered suit on the floor in front of her.
"That won't be necessary" She said, looking up at Eva for just a moment. "Just...anything that relies on electricity will work. An arc welder, even. I don't know..."
Staring back at the suit, she picked up a random scrap of fabric. "Where..." she muttered, seeming absorbed in the puzzle of torn material in front of her.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
Sev shrugged slightly.
"I'm going to fix it of course."
She smoothed out the suit which was almost in one piece, fitting the last shards into place very carefully. Running a hand over the strange, rubbery material, she checked there was no holes, then, seeming pleased with her work, she stood.
"It isn't just a suit. Its like a security measure, so we don't usually need bandages or casts for broken bones. Unfortunately the power surge required to decommission me frazzled it...and you tore it to shreds, too."
She smiles slightly, running her eyes over the material and leaning down to fix a small gap.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
"Well..."
Sev looked up at the roof for a moment, then back to Eva.
"I've got no clue."
Before Eva could respond, she raised a hand, taking a breath.
"BUT I was told how I should repair my equipment at length, and that includes the inner suit. I'd be able to do it with my own equipment but the multitool melted with everything else, and the squad ship is still on Maine."
She shrugged. "Better off there anyway..."
Looking at Eva and seeing the same, deadpan stare, she coughed.
"Though I was told I could just use electricity to fix it whenever something goes wrong."
Kneeling down, she checked two nodes on the suit- one on either elbow.
"Yeah...It should work...I hope."
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
If you're planning on using my welder you do need to be aware that it's primary purpose is to weld. If you're going to do what I think you're going to do you'll not only probably set that thing on fire but electrocute yourself too.
