To the honoured Junkers Congress,
My name is Thomas Kosa. I hope you already received my previous message broadcasted in enitre Texas recently. First I would like to state, that I'm most impressed with how the Junkers handle their business and that I am fond of your ideals.
I'm writing to you to apologise for the grand trouble I caused in your business with constructing a space installation right next to Beaumont Base in Texas, with no previous announcement. I hope you understand my point that the people that were involved in the construction - and are currently the inhabitants of Dallas - needed a few safe hours. I feared the most that the authorities - whom I obviously misjudged - would not allow these people to leave Houston at all, which would have been a very short end to our dream. In hindsight, I know I was wrong.
I agree this is no excuse to disrupt the economy of Beaumont and thousands of other people. That was something I didn't count in the first place.
Please accept my apologies!
That's why I'm offering you to solve this most unpleasant situation. It is the base itself and its extreme proximity to Beaumont that's the main cause of the havoc if I'm not mistaken. However I have no hostile intentions to anyone, so
I'm willing to remove Dallas Base.
I hope that would end a stressful period for everyone in Texas. But I still need a place for these people to live. After I promised to give them welfare and the life they deserve so far I put them through nothing but struggle, working through dozens of hours with no sleep and gave them nothing in exchange but the danger of losing their lives. That concludes I need a new space station on a different location of course. A place where we can live, prosper, make studies in peace while we do not harm other people and their interests in the meantime.
A few days ago I had the honour to meet a representative of yours. After hours of exchanging ideas we have come to a conclusion that could be beneficial for everyone involved.
If all parties agree, the orbit of Planet Chisos could be the location of the new base. That is far enough not to disrupt the traffic of Beaumont and that would cause the discretion and neutrality to return to Beaumont, of which the Junkers can be proud. Still, the base would be close enough not to stretch supply lines too long, not to mention the research potential of Chisos and the Negra clouds.
Of course I also intend to give the base a Junker IFF-code and make it open for all so anyone you allow to land will be allowed on the new Dallas base as well. Optionally I could offer to make the base a MOX selling point as MOX is really scarce in Liberty. I hope that would be a decent compensation for your troubles.
All I want is to end this conflict once and for all. My only goal was to make a new home for those that lost their own and those that drifted to insecurity. I want to give all the suffering people hope! And make this cruel world a little happier. Unfortunately right now I'm even further away from this goal, than before I started.
With all due respect I hope I can trust the forgiveness of the Congress and we can come to a peaceful outcome. If we do, I'm going to contact Liberty authorities as well prior to any construction.
Strange that you would wait to deliver us such a message.
A serious lack of respect was shown here to us and all Junkers.
As a self proclaimed friend to Junkers you sure have an odd way of showing it.
This station has been a serious detriment to business, an OPEN direct violation to Liberty laws and an unwanted eye sore.
You gave house authorities plenty of reasons to question us and we were forced to comply.
This station was setup to survive intense sieges and capital ship bombardments.
Now after all this time and unnecessary hardship you come forward and with an apology.
I am very tempted to tell you where you can shove that "sorry".
Regardless I won't as you do seem to seek peace.
Plus the fact that all we want is to do our business and go our own way.
Your precious project has disrupted that fabric of freedom we so richly enjoy.
I'll agree to accept your apology provided the base is removed immediately.
Furthermore before you build another base you must apply for the proper permit.
The Navy assisted us in trying to remove the station as we had no idea of its TRUE intent.
Luckily the shield held and none of the innocent Junkers on Dallas were harmed.
Still for that reason I would not feel right in fixing our problem only to hand the Navy another one.
Your men and yourself will be given safe harbor on Beaumont while you make the necessary arrangements.
I thank you for owning up to this and your willingness to set things right.
Good luck to you and godspeed in removing the station from its current location.
