In regards to the KNF being allowed in Frankfurt, and the RM allowed in Honshu as described here: http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=100499
I've got a few questions in regards to this.

- Honshu: Aomori area doesn't seem to be excluded, but that's not Kusari space, that's GMG sovereign space according to lore. I doubt the GMG will appreciate the RM trying to lay down the law on them.
- Sigma 13: Does the GMG readily allow significant foreign naval movements through their own sovereign space? Especially the RM one can be a bit of a problem based on Rheinland/GMG history.
- How do the Hogosha feel about foreigners playing cop in Kusari space?
- What's the reaction of the Rheinland unlawful forces? Hessians/Unioners/Bundies are all present in Frankfurt, I wager none of them are too pleased with this...

Personally, I'm not really sure this is a very good idea to begin with, since Kusari doesn't directly border Rheinland as a nation, since the sovereign GMG is inbetween them. Logically, if the cops are allowed that far, all unlawful factions would need to have the same allowance - Blood dragons, GC, FA and Hogosha could then go to Frankfurt - and all Rheinland unlawfuls including the Hessians could go make a mess in Honshu. Just makes factions drift further and further from their own role in the game by having their players be so far away from their homes/goals...

All of these inRP points are valid issues requiring reconsideration, but I have question from server rules side, isn't it against the rules for RM to engage in Honshu, and for KNF to engage in Frankfurt? That's definitely not their ZoI, even if ZoI itself isn't strictly described in the IDs now.

It'd be bad if anyone trying to RP that treaty out got sanctioned, including me on my RM and KNF chars.

More conflict! More dramma! more pvp!!! more RP ??????????

Also, small question. Only [RM] tagged ships are allowed in Honshu, and KNF| in Frankfurd? No indies, I hope?

Currently a new treaty between KNF and GMG is in the works, it surely will cover the raised issue in some way.
I'm not sure how relations are between the GMG and Rheinland though.

Also, this doesn't mean that any of the faction will neglect their role and the other systems of their house.
It is mainly there to promote activity and roleplay through cooperation.

I'm sure the unlawful factions don't like this and maybe it gives them a reason to be active and fight against this treaty.
The hogosha might decide to target Rheinland shipping in the sigmas because of this. All in all, this should promote activity in some way. Hopefully.

Edit: afaik this includes indies

As a preface, this treaty is not a new thing. It is an expansion on the existing treaty allowing KNF and RM forces into each others house space, up to the border stations.

That is a good point, I didnt know that. I will bring it up with the KNF leadership log back on and we may modify the treaty to reflect that.

This is covered in a previous treaty signed with the GMG. The treaty can be found here. This treaty allows Rheinland forces free access to lower sigma 13, and allows Rheinland forces to use the trade lanes leading from the Frankfurt gate and all the way to Honshu with the intention to enter or leave Kusari space.

They will probably both dislike this turn of events. The LWB and AFA have alrleady approched me on setting up events to raid Rheinland Military units in Kusari, and Naval Forces units in Rheinland.

It is a bit of a shift, but seeing as Liberty units are currently in Leeds fighting Gallia, I dont think it is too much of a stretch. This treaty affects military units only, not cops, and is limited in its scope. The goal is to provide a basis of cooperate between Kusari and Rheinland as houses and militaries that has currently been lacking. This patrol treaty will not be taken for granted and used as an every day expansion to the ZoI, but as an occasional activity to build ties between allies.

OORPly, this addresses a point of disparity between the nations' two armed forces. In Kusari , there is plenty of role play to go around, but the KNF has mentioned that there is never anything to shoot at. In Rheinland, there is always plenty to shoot at, but the role play is stale and lacking for military pilots. This allows KNF players to remain in their faction and occasionally come to Rheinland to fight nationalist LWB. It gives the LWB faction something to do. It allows Rheinlanders to enter Kusari for fresh role play with factions they have never met, and gives the nationalist AFA movement a new enemy to fight.

I expect many other factions will have something to say about this, low activity factions like the farmers of both houses, the Hogosha, the Hessians, and the Bundeschuh. All in all, it breeds and promotes activity, and injects something exciting and new into the two currently stagnant nations. There will be bumps along the road, like the one you brought up about Aomori. These will be addressed and the treaty modified as things come along. All in all, I believe that the benefits of this agreement, both inRP and OORP outweigh the pitfalls.

I will be looking forward to more feedback. Thank you for your questions!

Mind you, the Rheinland-Bretonian conflict in Omega 3 brought interesting activity back then which ended up in a couple of stations lost.

Will we expect unforeseen consequences courtesy of the admin team?

Indies are currently included in the treaty. However, wording was purposefully left vague. If there is trouble with indies, they will be dropped from the treaty.

We feel it only fair to include all members of our respective factions.

One of the goals Rheinland has at the moment, thanks to their mismanagement of the Interspace Commerce Crisis, is to strengthen ties with Kusari and gain a strategic ally to rely upon encase everything goes to hell. This works towards that goal, and is not pointless by any means.

That is up to the admin team, not I.

Depends on how all this pans out I suppose. Decimated Kusari forces recruiting new pilots, and getting then some experience by serving abroad makes sense in a way. RM serving in Honshu... I can see issues arise. Liberty traders calling port there is another issue.

And just for the record, about one year ago the Kusari lawfuls would complain of the opposite. xD
