i was informed that there is a dew bases and a home planet to PC nomads, where you can buy nomad ships and get nomad ID, since you start off friendly with LPI, you start off hostile to nomads, so you cant make a nomad char, how do you become friendly or somhow join the nomads?

i also putting up a poll to vote if the settings should be changed on the server so evryone starts completely neutral

ivoted yes. i agree that players should start neutral to all factions, but nomads should stay hostile, cause if they are not hostile like on other server then everyone would play with nomads...even me in a cruiser

No. Just... no. The Nomads would be the new Bounty Hunters, with no RP required, they'd just be PVP whored to death.

Starting neutral is a big no, Since it will generate a bunch of OORP power traders

No, current settings are fine...except i think you should start neutral with the Phantoms.

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams
Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction
Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid
Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space
Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits

Liberty and Nomad Backstory, Very interesting - read it!

These are the factions you will never start neutral with:

Nomads
Nomad Guard
Phantoms
Administrators
Wilde

So get used to it! I personally think that starting neutral to everyone else isn't so bad, as it gets annoying to have to go through a couple of loops to start a Rogue character, or whatever, but that's about it. Those 5 factions right there have to start out as hostile.

Using Search function.
Look for Keepers or nomads.
Find the relevent threads.
Study.
Become friends with the nomads.

Effort is good here.

Current setting is fine, doesn't need any changes. Maybe a bit of a tweak to have Liberty start off neutral instead of friendly, but other then that, no changes.

Of course the ideal situation would be a list or menu where you get to choose your affiliation and start point when you create a new character, but with everything to do with Freelancer, i'm sure thats a real pain to implement. (Although thinking about it, i'm sure i've been on servers where you can type bertynavy, /corsair, /outcast, etc to be beamed to the appropriate place and start with a suitable ship.)

Besides, who wants to take away the fun of traveling all the way to the Borderworlds in a Starflier, keeping in mind the repfixing you still have to do when you get there? Not me for one! :P

The /faction thing is perfectly doable using FLHook, and, as far as I know, not too difficult really.
