Hello, everyone, can someone tell me about the current lore of Primus? I was wondering because of the AI interest in the planet, and I had an idea for RP. I just want a basic rundown. I read the wiki about it, but it says it is an outdated article, so I just want to make sure.
Are there currently any life signs on the planet? Are there monkey-people living there? Is there any possibility of it or life there is strictly non-existent? If there are monkey-people, how advanced are they? Etc.
Primus unlike Gammu has primate life-forms in there, it is not a sentient world ~ Gammu on the other-hand much like Primus can support life but for barely a few hours ( That' is you visit with a vessel ) - However when the colonists colonized these planets they have had to escape from the radiation and so they left some robots there to keep "mining" the stuff in there ~ eventully those robots evovlved and walla.
Gammu is completely robotic, Primu is compeltely filled with life ~ However, dangerious to humans after hours.
Primus? Kappa is an easter egg leftover from vanillia, featuring monkey & robot planet with no lore or official recognition into FL universe. From there, only AI were salvagable however those primates should've been deleted ages ago.
Monkeys are a Freelancer's dev joke that shouldn't exist in role-playing server, just like furries.

Yet one TAZ player RPed that he had his char as one of this monkey people and was scientist.
There just no Monkey ID, so you cant show to all what you RPing.
Primus have no real Lore in Disco, unlike Gammu. As I know - its radioactive to humans so they cant live there. Monkeys resistant to this radiation. AIs is robots so they dont care for radiation. Monkeys cant buld ships to get out of planet. And dont want to maybe. Monkeys are peaveful society of quite smart species, while AIs more agressive but no less smart.
firstly - thats correct - primus has no real disco lore. no faction seriously tried to build on that easter egg.
in terms of lore - it is assumed that either a virus, a hostile atmosphere or radiation causes a "de-generative" effect - which does not affect the mind as much as the physiology. but thats where it ends.
those zoner settlers who made planetfall on primus were never heard of again - until the rediscovery. - maybe out of shame or who knows what.
the history of gammu is established though:
zoners made planetfall no a planet that showed remains of an ancient alien civilization on a planet that seemed to support human life. - since zoners and pretty much every faction that is not planetform - can only really colonize ( that is more than just a tiny outpost ) so called "goldilock" planets - this one was a real gem.
breathable air, good temperatures, acceptable day night circle, and earthlike gravity seemed very good. - also of course the fact taht there was something to explore. ( meaning probably something valuable )
the settlers made expeditions to those ancient sites - and accidently or not - activated one of those.
the reason why the planet is a grey desert is due to the fact that it is meant to resemble the "grey goo" - generic raw material for nano processing.
today the planets atmosphere is filled with a nanocloud ( asylum of the daleks / doctor who - if you don t know what that is meant to be ) - or in short it re-purposes matter into whatever it needs - or turns it into grey goo for later processing.
the few settlers that managed to flee this apocalypse were caught off guard when they made it into orbit - and were annihilated by nomads.
nomads usually stay clear from gammu, because - the planet would repurpose their matter into raw material, too - while gammu spills out von Neumann and Berserker drones.
Thanks for all the information. I am thinking of giving my idea a go, and if it doesn't work out, well there are other things I want to try. Again thank you for being so helpful.
Erm Jinx i dont see any mention of that ingame, I think the actuallore just states it was too radioactive for humans so the AIs took over when the humans left.
And ye Primus lore as far as I can see is "Radiation mutated the settlers into monkeys"

its not ingame - it was discussed but not made public when we assessed the inclusion of the harvesters. - its no binding lore, it is what - at that time ( which is longer ago ) - was considered to be a "possible background".
