It is a sad topic , but today is the day , the 12 year anniversary of the 9/11 the Terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York City. I wondered if I would post it or if some one else would. I want this to be a civil chat please, no argueing and for the love of all that is good Please do Not start pointing fingers for the attacks. today is a day to think about and know that a better world will rise from the ashes of what has fallen.
RIP to all who parished on this day, you will be remembered.
and through it all I feel the best line for this day comes from the End of the Freelancer Intro Video
I think admins long time ago established that this forum is not a place for any politics or such serious topics, other than role-play struggles in the mod.
If you legitimately want to discuss politics with the other people on this forum, Kevin (Marburg) has graciously started an NSA monitored skype chat about it.
Now if all the damned disco freaks would quit complaining about DISCO on there, and simply talk politics / sex / war / etc ... You know, all the stuff that we can't talk about on here....
But yeah, that guy was pretty cool to do that for us & personally, I happen to like that it swerves t'ween politics & other disco taboos.
It did get overly discoey last night though, but I noticed this morning that he asked people to try harder to minimize specific game talk. People already have more places to do that than they know what to do with.

I was actually off from work that morning, trying to sleep in with my wife. My son would run into my room and say, "Daddy, a plane crashed into the World Trade Center." I thought of it nothing more than an accident so I turned on the morning news, something I rarely do. As my wife and I watched, we saw the other plane hit the other tower. I just looked at her and said, "That was no accident." I would watch it all morning, watching those towers fall. I will never forget that day.
I've been nine when I've seen it on TV when it first was shown in the German news.
Pretty disturbing as I can remember how one saw people jumping out of the building's windows, hitting the ground. My parents weren't at home when I watched it - they probably wouldn't have allowed me seeing it at that age. At any age, one shouldn't see people dying live on TV. Horrible world.
Also, just three weeks ago, I visited the WTC memorial while they almost had finished the Freedom Tower. Standing there, I thought: "I'm glad that I didn't had to witness the fall of the Twin Towers with my own eyes.".
Sitting on the floor of a classroom with about 50 other kids, watching the towers fall. To this day I wish the teachers had done their jobs and turned the damn tv off. Those teachers did not have the right to force a room full of 10 year olds to watch people decide which was a more painless death, burn to death or jump. I still can't imagine the fear those people went through, knowing both roads lead to one.
