Estimados señores of the Familia High Command,

Given then current volatility of Gallic-Bretonian relations, I thought it would be best to provide my observations directly to the High Command rather than waiting for them to trickle up the administrative ladder.

Over several months, I’ve had the distinct pleasure of observing Gallic intrusions into Leeds from time to time. It has been quite an opportunity to record Gallic military tactics and strategy in Bretonia as an experiment, if you will, to guide Maltese defensive and offensive operations if and when the Gallics turn to Omicron-80. Bretonian dead are a regretful consequence, but the Nacion can learn from their mistakes and successes.

However, the successes are few and far between as of late. The Gallics have mounted a full push into Leeds, and in the most promising manner given the circumstances, the Bretonian Armed Forces adopted a “turn and burn” strategy, rendering LD-14 uninhabitable and resisting the Gallic invasion on the ground – or should I say beneath it – of Planet Leeds itself. The war has taken a unique turn with the Gauls focusing their efforts on chasing and burning the Bretonians out of their hovels and tunnels, but they are taking heavy casualties. Bombardment is ineffective, and engagements in space are less common.

It is only a matter of time until the Gallics discover the way to Liberty through Magellan. Again, more lost time while we bolster our offensive and defensive abilities.

With the destruction of the Leeds jump gate, I believe my occasional time in Bretonia is at an end. Unless and until the Gauls begin their press into New London, my time would be better spent maintaining our own supply lines. I will be submitting my full tactical report shortly.

In the meantime, I will make certain we are prepared. Leeds will suck the Gauls in for a long time to come. No matter the favor we may have for Bretonia, and unless we or others intervene, their fate is in the hands of whatever god they worship.

First I'd like to say grazie for your commitment. Your exploration and initiative has gathered valid information for us and the rest of the Outcasts. What you speak of is certainly another of your successful ventures.

It's a grave shame due to our relations with the Bretonians. The Gallics are certainly down on the list as a threat though looking at the result of several raids by the Colonials and the Corsairs, I don't believe our defenses will buckle should they turn their noses toward us.
