So fighter torpedoes

Not bomber torpedoes, we are not discussing those here.

I mean fighter torpedoes.

I am bringing them up because with the recent missile buffs a cannonball missile basically does sunslayer amounts of damage but with much better stats on it. It kind of makes fighter torpedoes become a bit obsolete eh?

Well what do we do with fighter torpedoes in the future?

Just buff them, but keep them as basically anti-fighter weapons?

Or supercharge them, maybe make them like tiny novas which are good at fighting transports and gunboats? Then again, three fighters can already kill a gunboat, so would that even matter? Or could it be something to support bombers in attacking large ships... fighter torpedoes could be faster than novas, but then they might be too good against fighters... what do we do with these things?

Also is the fact that we need to consider heavy fighters now, most of which seem to be able to mount a CD and a fighter torpedo. Will those become minibombers? I don't really see many people with sunslayers or starkillers these days.... so what, are they only good for mounting minirazors on now?

Should the minirazor change? What is it even supposed to be right now? Is it just a skillshot weapon that does a bunch of damage but is really hard to hit with? Why does that matter, class 9 (well 8 now) fighter guns seem to get the job done with far more accuracy and consistency. The MR is really only decent against bombers but even then it takes a few good hits to really make a difference in its hull. Do those change too?

My humble opinion would be to buff them to sky heaven yeah how is that, i say let's make fighter torps missiles Sun Killers give them that kind of stats be cause now sincerely poor weak things.., be caaaause the bomber isn't enough anymore, perhaps..

they were just fine as they were in 86 all they need was a bit of tracking,not making guns so damn obsolete.

Missiles will likely be nerfed, now that they hit so well. This leaves space for Torpedos that do more damage but do not hit that well. Just my idea.

Missiles right now would be fine if they would only hold 10-15 or so shots in the launcher (will likely have their stats adjusted to keep respectable ammo counts), but I do not want to focus on missiles, but rather how to differentiate between fighter missiles and torpedoes.

I think fighter torpedoes deserves damage buff. Not into insta-kill weapon, but something around 20k will be fine

Keep their tracking the same, bump their damage up to 20k, up the explosion radius so spammers can get caught in their own blast, and you just made a good weapon.

Yes, when talking about fighter torpedos you have to consider missiles. And if missiles don't get nerfed like Jack suggested in another thread then torps are redundant.

Am i wrong to presume torp tracking has improved too? If that's true then maybe they can be usefull when missiles get nerfed. A lot of presumtions i know.

Fighter torpedoes (not the MR) have always been kind of an outside choice, particularly the Sunslayer.

Right now, they're a weaker choice than ever, sacrificing a slot that could be used for a CD or MR for something that's too weak against anything bigger than a snub, and too slow compared to missiles is not exactly attractive.

I suggest giving the Starkiller similar treatment as fighter missiles: much higher speed and tracking ability (though still inferior to cannonballs), as well as higher damage and lower ammo capacity.

The Sunslayer could indeed perhaps be made into a mini nova, too slow to hit snubs except in "mine ram style", but with something like 50k damage. Enough to noticeably dent transports and gunboats.

That would also reward team piracy, with one CD-less pirate dealing heavy damage to a transport while his teammate prevents it from fleeing.

Fighter torps havent had a role since SHF got bomber torp slots. Probably ought to just delete them. Either that or make them energy-weapon mini-snac like the mini-razor

Saronsen made a good point. Just buff fighter torps to be something that does massive amount of damage (as in around the 20k), which with a good shoot combined can insta snubs, but make the blasting radius a little bit bigger to keep from spammers to spam.
