(sorry, Gunboats...)

now in 4.87, Gunboats had crippled(Turrets speed slowed down), and Lv4 transports' turrets speed up.
Charon:2080*2(600) Cerberus: 2300*2(900)
transports as powerful as GBs but have cago space.
Gunboats can't win transports, bombers,cap ships, and can only win small fighters, small transports maybe.
and this role of militray attack unit is rarely stand out to raids,RP actions now(in my observe)

So how do you think optimize GBs' data as:

increase turn rate to average 50deg/s, cruise speed:180
(Current average statistical results: Fighters 73,Bombers 57, GBs 35,Transports>3000c 17,Cruisers 21, BSs and Carriers 10)
decrease armor to 40-70k,shields to 70k
increase 1.5-2.5 times turrets damage
add shield damage weapon.
Some of turrets change to guns.

and if do so:
Gunboats will also attend to destroy the Cap ships. And ofc cap ship could easy shoot them down if GBs' operation are not good.
Gunboats will more balance that could have a fight with bombers,fighters but a little preponderant. This is as it should be.

It'll more worthier of its name.( ← If you know what I meaning )
I believe that some guys will fall in love with gunboats again.

Turn rate seems fine as is, but I think the cerbs could use another few hundred DPS if they're almost outmatched by transport class turrets...

You could have a look at the power cores of transports and Gunboats, I'd say this is fine as it is.

You could have a look on DPE of gunboat and transport weapons. I'd say it's not fine as it is

I think we could compensate this by adding agility... That'd make it a effective anti-snub ship and still the same effective as before against caps, now with weaker weapons but more agile to outmanuever heavy weaponry from bigger ships. This would favor the bombers to attack bigger ships instead, and we could use gunboats/gunships to shoot the bombers down with not so OP weapons, but good enough agilty to maybe outmanuever nova torps or SNACs

Jens, speaking of power cores for transports, what's the point of heavy transports all having hyperspace survey module slots but none of them have enough power core to USE them?

I probably understood ur meaning and agree with you if you meant transports can't use that device.(sorry I havn't used that). the max transports' energy is 7500 now.. btw could u plz teach me what is " Jens". Is that mean "you" or "I" ?

After looking by my reading ability I think your opinion is : add aguility is enough to compensate weakness of GBs. yes good idea. and thanks for ur professional English that sent me 11 new words to learn. Big GrinBig Grin
