We've all seen some things that annoyed us about 4.87, and I don't blame anyone for mentioning those things; the first step to fixing something is to point out what needs fixing. But at this point I think the developers need to know what they've done right so they can do that kind of work in the future.

In this thread, I would like that people list what they like and possibly respond to others' comments, but please try to remain positive!

I can't list every single thing but I'll outline some of the things I like about 4.87:

I like the new menu screens. They look awesome and they help point out how this has turned into its own game while still also being entirely relevant to the theme of freelancer.

I like the new variations in characters, allowing people to finally actually look the way they should for the faction they're playing in.

I like the new restarts with the civilian shuttle with the weapons of the faction it's put into and with the engine of its faction, which really looks cool and is pretty balanced to be formidable yet still be designed to leave the player desiring a new ship to move into.

I like the new bonus movement speed given to light transports. They are now finally worth using for those who care a bit less about profit and a bit more about enjoying their time in a transport, allowing players to outrun enemy capital ships while still leaving them vulnerable only to fighter and bomber pirates. Hopefully this will increase the activity of fighters and bombers as they become necessary for their speed and limit the use of capital ships only to that of fighting other capital ships or carrying out defensive roles.

I like the new light fighter guns. They'll need a little bit of touching up of course, they seemed a little bit rushed, but I feel safely certain that they will have more work done to perfect them in the future.

I like the bit of variation added to countermeasures, leaving us with three viable and different countermeasures with different weaknesses and advantages, allowing players to customize a slot to their own liking, allowing for just a bit more of a personal feel where even the countermeasure which used to be taken for granted, which sees new importance with the speeding up of missiles, to now be a unique factor in how a person will use their countermeasures depending on which type they are using.

I like most of the model changes for ships; most, I will say, most, of them are more attractive and better fitting their purpose now.

I love that basically all the gear you need for your fighters is on every base, no more flying out to guard systems or Barrier Gate to get that mine dropper or armor you wanted.

I love the buff to transport weapons, now making the so called battletransports a rather brutal encounter if you pirate is not equipped well enough.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

Love the restarts. They reduce the stupid grindtime that you have to do before you can make the ship you want.
Love the improved availability for the basic items.
Love the faster snub fights.
Love to be able to play "for real" again. Smile

I love the house civilian guns. Gives factions like the VR a lot more to work with without massive technerfs than codenames/chainguns/flashpoints.

Retired, permanently.

I am not a native English Speaker, so i make grammar errors.
But it annoys me when people make silly comments about that... especially brits who for the most part can't speak their own language let alone anyone elses!

Generally yes, this most recent update, seems to be much better.

I've got no major complaints.
