So here it is, just had this idea. I'm sure similar has been suggested in the past;
A day is chosen for an rp battle event.
A base is chosen to be assaulted.
Time frame selected that during which, the base becomes destroyable.
The battle ensues. Easy consequences, if destroyed, the base will stay removed for 1 week. This time will be allowed for a 'reconstruction' period whereas at the end of the week, the base reappears (same configuration, go figure? but perfectly ok)
Another choice is made for another base the next week, and so on.
That way during the chosen day, there will be an ongoing siege. But make it realistically destroyable, no repairs possible, just needs to last the most of the day. Odds are it wont, and thats the point, to at least make the siege happen.
Then if its gone for a week, its like the environment and the area changes a bit due to the changing tides of war. We all know that npc everything never changes except with new mods, but perhaps these small changes will allow for some good stories surrounding the sieges, and yes, may anger those who use those bases. Let them inrp their revenge.
How to choose bases? something like an srp request? probably easier if the admins choose at random and base around recent events.
there is thread regarding this issue. IT is debated , try to find it , most people support that kind of ideas, i think Aerealm stance is that he might implement ideas if interested sides agree on predesignated terms. But i dont wanna put words in his mouth , go find a thread to avoid multiple discussion on same topic.

Well if thats the best we can get then I suppose thats how it goes. I'll repost in the other forum. Even if gone for a day at least it would give good battle objective to an rp event other than just meet and pew. This way there would be a definitive victory or loss with the destruction or retention of the base.

Regardless of the final arrangment, I'd like to see some kind of rp battle event involving the npc bases, with some real ingame consequences, understanding they will only be temporary.
Not really a fan of this. Reason: Server crashes when a patrol route ends or starts in a nonexistant base. You'd need to edit the system file to wipe all the trade and attack/defense patrols headed toward that base. Would require a full mod update.
It's a nice idea, but the game engine won't support it. A dockable object MUST exist at the end of every patrol route.
