I've received a lot of PM's from players that have been banned for cheating (Namely, speed mod, weapons mods, loot mods, and the like), where they post screenshots of the mod manager as proof that they never had had those mods, and also sent me their ini files to try prove they never modded them.

Well, I have to say that sort of proof is not valid, for it can be easily manufactured by anyone who is knowledgeable enough to play the game and edit a text file.

Also, when I ban someone for speed, wepmodding, etc, believe me that I have more than rock solid proof of that.

For example. I get a player PM where he sends me a screenie of his FLMM window, showing only a single mod on it. I took the reference image from my FLMM, and used PAINT (yeah, the crappy paint, that comes with windows) to edit it. And no, its not vista. It's XP 64 with a vista skin :

"Hey plz, i never speedmodded. plz plz, release my chars for i wanna ply fl agein... se3 da pic man, i have n other mod installd. My char is calld 'kaspars1233'"

I then go to the server, see the logs, and find this on the humble anti-cheat tool log viewer:

Yeah, right... you never used speedmod, yet the logs are FULL of it...
Look again at the pattern. Its 100% sure to assume that he did use speedmod on the server, and for a long time indeed.

This one is an example of someone who used wepmod.
I think its very clear that he did wepmodded his ship, despite whatever his claims might be (although I never got a PM from him, one of the recurrent cheaters with a dsl line with dynamic IP).

So, resuming, if you cheat, you're screwed. Badly.

On the other side, there might be some instances where I ban doubtful log entries too. If that is your case, then PM me so I can investigate a bit more deeply about your chars. But remember that there is almost no evidence that you can provide that can get you out when there is a huge log file behind the ban proving that you did cheat.

May we not forget the bugs associated with FLMM 1.4 BETA which has caused numerous headaches to some Testers, ship makers and mod developers.

when you Deactivate the speedmod in FLMM1.4, it STAYS activated, BUT in-game your speed can sometimes stay at 350 in cruise. Although, the program will still detect you, because some mod files have stayed in the original FL file. (Best thing to solve the problem is to go in tools and make a restore of the original files / OR Reinstall everything).

Case where 1.4 was in use are much much much more easier to defend than case where players were using 1.3

EDIT: Even if I myself spit in the faces of cheaters, maybe you should hide the critical informations (IP and account code)

It's very nice to see a demonstration of anticheat softwerz, and admins that are on the cutting edge of Cheata busting...

Edit1: Couldn't the software be made to kick cheaters on detection?

And the name too? Perhaps? Or we can take what it has now and put it in photoshop....

I can smell the destruction...

Ok, with that explanation, I have a question..
As I only have the Disco 4.84 mod activated (after a complete deleting & re-install after the last incident & per advise from Majk) Why is it now & then I still get kicked from server by the anti cheat?
I have also seen a couple players I know are not using any other mod get hit the same way. So is the Anticheat flawed? or is there something we as players need to do on our end to fix the problem before we get sucked into a ban?
Also, what would be proof a player could submit if they feel there was a mistake? If a Screenie of your FLMM cant be trusted, then what would you submit to prove that the Anticheat may have made a mistake OR something is wrong in the setup of the players game they was not aware of.

Not harping on you.. just been on the ban list with this before & at no fault of my own & hate to see players lost due to same glitched software.

No. That about the speed meter showing 350 while you go 3000 does not exists.
Also, one has to be quite dumb not to notice that its going to 3000+ m/s....

Simple rule: You mod, you get banned.

I mis explained, I never said that you would go at 3000+

You would go at normal speed, however the "punkbuster" program will think you are going faster than that

Or am I wrong.

Its actually very possible, unless the speed is directly tied to your movement speed, which I think it is. If it is directly displaying the variable, then, no, I don't think that that is possible.

Well judging from the display, it takes several positions over large time frame, a couple of minutes, if you're going that fast for that long you must be modding, there's no other way to achive such speeds... so as the Korrd law #1 would state: You mod, you get banned.

I would like to ask one more question if possible .
Lets say I`m in a tradelane or cruising and I get a lag spike heavy red lag that makes my ship "jump" somehow, it could make the anti cheat software to think that I`m speed modding ? Everyone makes mistakes and even some programs.
