Thruster speed adjustment

The handling of a cruiser was always a art. But since 4.87 it is impossible to dodge missiles, torps and shots. A skilled captain should always be able to dodge a missile. To begin i thought this is just an error and will be corrected soon. But nothing happend at the moment. The cruisers are way to slow.
It is a terrible shock for me, cuz i love cruisers :3


Current thrust speeds:
Gunboats: 150 m/s
Cruisers: 130 m/s
Battle cruisers: 120 m/s


My suggestion: Set the max. thrust speed of cruisers to 140 m/s again like in 4.86

What about transports then? Increase their speed? But then we'd need to increase snub speed as well. Then GBs too. :O

I don't think you understand the point of guided ordnance.

He suggests to go back to 4.86 speeds, it worked back then, why not now?

All speeds are too fast.
They can all be nerfed, across all classes.

-20 thrust speed on everything would not harm anybody.
Trying a -40 would actually be an interesting experiment.

I think it can be a good improvement, just a think to have in mind. This would affect other balance issues like distances between mining fields and dockable bases?

I dont know. I think that would not be necessary. But i miss the battle razors somehow. And those shock ray turrets arent usefull, they are only usefull for the npcs for killing players.

They didn't get changed and have the same setting like in 4.86, so much i know.
And if so, they should also be adjusted.

A Battlecruiser can easily catch up a cruiser that tries to dodge its shots and gunboards can fly away if they want to leave the battle.
Cruisers are definitely the losers and gunboards the winners in this update. It isn't balanced, but it was in 4.86.

Well, there was a lot of.complaining about.balance in 4.86, so let's not suddenly pretend that wasn't happening.

What if you increased BC/BS damage slightly, and then just slowed only them down a touch?
