by the sounds of things.
Perhaps perhaps, but they didn't said singel word to RH cruiser..like ther was no Cruiser at all.
I would first eliminate bigger threat.
But ok ok np np I'm still learning.
Hmm you know what...there was 5 of them, they could easy pick on me and on RH cruiser at same time.

Breton-Hessian Love is not something new. Even if it sounds totally OORP and even if they were slapped in the past by admins for it, they continue to love each other. The said sanction was the sanction biggest fail thing ever- sanctioned people were dropped in some system where they all died and lost their armours and in exchange spawned at the admin base in Delta where all type of cloaks are buyable. I know a guy that bought 20-30 cloaks via sun-diving and respawing again at the lost battlestar. Fun old times.
Bad for you for not knowing it,also if they were grouped or if they attacked you all together you can file a rule violation report since their OORP alliance is not tolerated by admins.
Sadly if this was not the case you cannot do much but you would know how to act in the feature at least.

We toasted the Vidar right after you, Murcielago. The BRF was a gunboat btw.
EDIT: Perhaps the logic behind it was that three fighters (who were only later reinforced by a GB, then later my Challenger) knew they could probably deal with a Pelican that was known to be pirating - which are still hideously strong - rather than a CAU7 Vidar. We were still swithering about the Vidar afterwards, but thankfully it didn't shoot me at all so I could wear it down until a cap could arrive to finish it off (before it docked on FP1 as usually happens).
I wasn't there, so I wouldn't know the exact situation, but picking a hostile transport as the priority target over a hostile cruiser is the logical move, if you ask me. Transports generally have a high amount of regens on them, but do not last long under concentrated fire. A cruiser, on the other hand, is a pain to take down without the sufficient firepower. So, it's basic group fight 101 - Kill the transport first so it doesn't get a chance to pass those pesky little nanobots to the cruiser and make killing it even more of a pain in certain posterior regions.

EDIT2: Nice knee-jerk, Govedo.
They were reinforced by GB (that thing is bigg..are you sure it wasn't Cruiser?) becouse they couldn't touch me...but I don't QQ becouse of that....
I was surprised that you didn't take RH Cruiser first
Acctualy not singel word was spoken to Cruiser before you scraped my ship.
btw...nice shooting from you...
