Ok i was pondering at the bridge of SkyShark, thinking about me getting my butt munched by a huggy (which it should but it infuriates me.)

I just figured out why the Huggy is so good... Number of Turrets (yes i am slow.)

So, My proposal is:

Gunboats are OK IMO, but i would like some feedback on this.

Cruisers/Destroyers should have roughly 10-12 turrets.

Battleships should have 16 - 20 turrets

That would mean that:

Battleships are as deadly as they should be.
Cruisers/Destroyers need support to take down a mighty Battleship(the Lib cruiser may destroy one using the Improved Forward gun in the next mod.)
Gunboats cant kill Battleships or Cruisers.

I understand that the power generators of Cruisers/Destroyers and Battleships would need to be increased to power the new amount of weapons.

This will also mean that gunboats will not be able to do stuff they shouldnt, like killing a BS or a Cruiser/Destroyer.

Now I want honest opinions but i dont want to be stomped on. If you dont like the idea, give it some thought before you shoot me down in flames.

From a model stand point, we *CAN* add gun/turret mount points...

BUT That requires an INSANE ammount of work. We'd have to go through every single model and check to see how many turrets and balance things out.

We already tried decreasing the turret numbers. Had a few bugs doing so, so we ended up with Level2 turrets (I really didn't like that LOL)

Cruisers at 10 to 12 turrets? Hmm. Huegnot had 15 to begin with. So I could probably buy that.

Again, sounds like a lot of work to do.. dunno if I'd be up for THAT.. :)

Can we lowed the Ammount of bats/bots on the Heugonot? Its REALLY annoying managing to FINALLY hit the f**kin thing then watch it go back to full health again... It can do that for AGES aswell... Mabye we should just make it so that no capships have Nb/Sb. They already have big shields and big Hulls. Just a sugestion so dont get all annoyed and start flaming me just because im trying to help... :crazy: :cool:

I like the idea.

Will make it more of a challange to kill BS and they will be feared like they should be and not just a big target.

I've been mildly miffed by one-shot weapons since their implementation, oh so long ago. I remember the days when fights were a matter of who could aim better, rather than who could aim a single shot. - Virus

I actually tend to agree with Gezza on this, just removing the ability to carry those. If it's not too much work.

i dont agree... I love destroying NPC's for the Nannobots and Sheild Batteries that they drop

You can get alot of money for it. Never mind when anohter player has been sluightering NPC's and left. I either destroy or tractor the cargo in space (major cause of lag).

I, myself, am not a major user of Bots and Bats, I just like to carry then in emergencies.

Anyway, I think that Bots and bats fit large Ships more than Fighters. Crusers and Battleships woul dhave engineers onboard to repeair the Shield Gen and Hull. Fighters just jumping up seems more unrealisstic to me.

He asked about the opinions on turrets nothing to do with nanobots/shieldbats

No I won't increase turret number that much. You remember that original Osiris had only 8 turrets? Well, I won't like the idea of ships like Osiris all covered with turrets, that's just ugly, no place for them on the hull. Turret number for battleships will remain between 12 and 16.

(Knowing Jamez, I was almost afraid that this will end with '16 to 20 for battleships, and 24 to 30 for gunboats')

Shield batteries and nanobots were already reduced, I see no need for more.

And - Wolfpack, you never said that you didn't like that level 2 turret thing :P but anyway, what else could I do?

I don't suppose the BS armour could be doubled or at least increased?

Reasons for asking:

1) The shield is just there to put off NPCs who are hostile.

2) Any fighter equipped to drop a BS shield pretty fast has either used the torpedo mount or at least 2 class 10 gun mounts, so they should have a really hard time doing alot of damage with the other weapons they have equipped.

3) It should take more then 3 or 4 fighters to be able to kill a BS off fairly quickly.

4) It should also take about 2 or 3 cruisers to be able the kill a BS off really fast.

These are just my opinions, but I think it'll be able to make up for all the anti-shield weapons.
